Short term. You're like the battered wife who won't leave because it will be a painful adjustment.  Yes, it will be painful for some for awhile.  LONG TERM it will be far better for the US.  

And worldwide downturn? Please. MArkets will fail or be altered where they are weak. New markets will take their place. No more Chinese cheap crap?  Vietnam, the Philippines, Mexico, India, etc. Plenty of cheap labor to produce crap for us to import.
