EDF, we may have found common ground. YIKES
But for the force behind the music, they don't want the gate money (people paying to see them live), they want the CDs. Gate and merchandise at shows benefit the band. CDs benefit the music industry, even at the highest level. They don't care how many people see the tour, they care how many people download the single and/or buy the CD. They want to make the moola off of the McDonald's tie-ins, which doesn't depend on the winner making good music, just marketable TV.
I think for many of the people who get into the top 10, NOT winning is the best thing because they don't have to do just what the music execs think will make them the most money in the short-term. (BTW, can't see you playing funk... )
Blake can do well in the funk/rap/mix/dance/DJ genre. He's got the depth to make it last. Kellie Pickler could have won if Carrie Underwood hadn't won the year before. Daughtry must be thanking their lucky stars that Chris D. exited when he did. Man, I wish I could listen to Taylor Hicks pre-Idol, or on an anti-Idol night.

I won't touch that bet! All I can say is thank God it's over for the season. With any luck at all this show will die before next season (wishful thinking I know).

I'm old school funk & blues...Earth Wind and Fire, James Brown... lots of blues... late 70's early 80's stuff... the Genesis of Rap and what they now call R&B came out of the Soul/Funk genre...
While my favorite last year was Kellie Pickler I don't think she has the same depth that Carrie Underwood had... of course Carrie has gotten really good and she's now a polished performer......
I've got Kellie's cd... and what she has going for her is her "perky" little attitude which will play well in concert and on TV...she's got a nice young country babe sound...
but... SHE'S PORKING OUT.... she's gotta lay off the gravy, fries and butter and get into "sushi"...and that hair do that she has now....did you see her on AI earlier in the year... she's gained at least 15 maybe 20 lbs... with that extra butter on her butt and that old style hairdo... well... she just disappointed me... but she still sang well...
I thought Daughtry did a great job last night.. is that his hit record that they've been playing all year long...?
I'm really a smooth Jazz kind of guy now... can't wait for the Mindy Abair and Craig Chaquico concert on June 15th... got great seats at the Radisson... now that's some funky music....Chaquico used to play lead guitar for the Starship....

I just wanted to let you know that this is my now... at... MARK!
That is no longer my now. Now this is my now.
I have a new now... and it is now.
By the time you read this, it will no longer be my now, so I guess this was just a wasted post.
I think I should go to bed... now.
