I'm OK with a couple new threads if it's just like:

Memorial Fund Information (I can make it a sticky)
Andre Anderson - Share Your Condolences (just share your condolences, anything else will get moved to another thread)

...stuff like that. The thread has gotten really long, which is fine, but it starts to splinter in to separate discussions.

THERE'S A HOLE IN THIS WORLD TONIGHT

The one thing about Andre that was special to me was his smile. His smile could light up an entire room, and I never saw him without his smile.

And I had to go to the high school today and pick up my child who was. . . so shocked . . . that verbalizing anything was impossible. I was met by sobbing teenagers, boys I've known since they were little guys, clinging to each other. They just milled around and cried.
The ones who cared for Andre did not ask "how" he died. They just cared that he is now gone.
And their grief ripped my heart out of my chest because I could not console them.

As speculations escalate I want people to remember this:

His parents saw him alive for the last time - and didn't realize it was the LAST time.
They will never, ever, ever watch their baby sleep again . . . . EVER
When he is lowered into the ground, it is over . . . FOREVER
His trusty skateboard will never soar the 10-stair again . . . EVER
His drum set will never rattle the walls again . . . EVER
Their lives, and the lives of their daughter and sons, will never be whole again . . . EVER
BUT - His life mattered so much to a whole bunch of people, & we cannot forget him . . . EVER

Please, let the police do their job.

And let us, as friends, neighbors, fellow parents, band together and offer our prayers and support to this family.

I just had the strength to begin reading what people have posted. I am Andre's first cousin. Your words are truly encouraging. The family appreciates it.

My condolences to you and your family. I did not have the pleasure of knowing Andre, but everything I've read here indicates he was a remarkable young man. He will be sorely missed.

The Memorial Service for Andre Anderson will be held Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Hills Church on Blue Ravine Dr. and Oak Ave.

Burial immediately following at Lakeside Memorial Lawn at Forrest Street and Folsom Blvd.

Reception immediately following at the Anderson's home on Hopfield Dr. and in Big Foot Park. In the park there will be tables of food. There will also be a table selling T shirts with Andre's picture on them to benefit the memorial fund. Also available will be educational brochures re: the choking game* as well as a Donation box.

*this is not the definitive reason for Andre's death, as it is still widely believed Andre was not alone or acted alone at the park.

Another great  day in the adventure of exploration and sight.

it is nice to see most people have stopped the attack on the Police, for the most part, and have turned there efforts toward grieving Andre......There still are a few people ie, farley and davbrr from the "other" forum that continue to keep the conspiracy theory alive. The * in Folsom500 last post does not really need to be there.....it seems that the family has accepted Andre's death as an accident and they are turning their efforts into educating other kids.....WELL DONE ANDERSONS!

I ask that people spread the love for the kids and educate them....we don't want more accidents to happen

You obviously do NOT read very well - as the Anderson's as well as the correctional officer that found the body - still have questions-- and taking 17 minutes for the first response officer who was out on a training run for the volunteer group- and then later the first actual patrol officer who was more interested in pulling over Andre's father for speeding - is surely not what we are told is the normal 3-5 minute response time that the FPD touts ..... Questions still remain--

Why are you so adamant in your denial ? Were you there ?

The famous phrase, "Methinks thou dost protest too much" comes to mind when I read Idunno's posts....

The first officer to respond was a real life officer, not a volunteer. You know, she wears a dark blue uniform and carries a gun.......the response time was quicker than 17 minutes....and the correctional officer who found him knows whats up.....at least he should.
