No that was me. Always look on the bright side of life is a Monty Python song, sung while Brian was crucified.

by the way, that Soup Dragons song was done by the Rolling Stones years ago.

Yeah, I recognized the soup dragons....but when it plays in my mind, it's Mick Jaggar's voice tongue.gif

Ahhhh....Monty Python, eh? That brings back some (strange) memories!!!

This just in....

"Earlier reports of the supposed abduction/disappearance of myFolsom Forum contributor, Al Waysrite, may have been greatly exaggerated. The Forum, however, is advised to not let their guard down until Al's identity has been confirmed. In other news, there are sketchy reports of a group of dragons, who may or may not be dining on turtle soup, in the Oak Avenue area. This would lead us to question: on WHICH side of Oak avenue is this taking place? Please stay tuned for more details as they become available......."

I'm doing this from memory, as I can't find all of the lyrics online. From Mel Brooks' History of the World Part I, "The Inquisition."

The Inquisition (Let's begin)
The Inquisition (Look out sin)
We're on a mission, to convert the Jews
(jew-j-jew-jew-jew-j-jew)

We're gonna teach them (Wrong from right)
We're gonna help them (See the light)
We'll make an offer, that they can't refuse
(That the jews just can't refuse)

Convert, don't be boring
Confess, don't be dull
A fact you're ignoring
It's better to lose you skull cap than lose your skul
(Oye gevult!)

The Inquisition (what a show)
The Inquistion (here we go)
We know you're wishin' that we'd go away.
But the Inquisition's here and it's here to stay!

The Inquisition, what a show.
The Inquisition, here we go.
We know you're wishin' that we'd go away!
So all you Muslims and you Jews!
We got big news for all of yous!
You'd better change your point of views TODAY!
'Cause the Inquisition's here and it's here to stay!

Country can be good. Just not when you're singing about a rhinestone cowboy.

Kaw Liga, to stubborn to ever show a sign, because his heart was made of mighty pine. Poor old Kaw Liga he neve got a kiss, poor old Kaw Liga he never got a kiss, is it any wonder why his face is red?

I'll be suprised if people know this one:

I'm in love with a dolly named Glendora...she works in the window of a big department store-a...eyes of blue, hair like gold, never been young but she'll never get old. Oh Glendora I wanna see more of you.

Reminds me of the line from the waitress at the cowboy bar in "Blues Brothers"

"We like both kinds of music: country *and* western"

ps: I know every crack on these dirty sidewalks of Broadway
"Here's the last toast of the evening: Here's to those who still believe. All the losers will be winners, all the givers will receive. Here's to trouble-free tomorrows, may your sorrows all be small. Here's to the losers: bless them all
Sinatra "Here's to the Losers"

Ah, the classics. My favorite Mel Brooks' lines are:

"We're marching to a faster pace!
Look out, here comes the master race!"

and

"Don't be stupid. Be a smarty.
Come and join the Nazi Pary"

(Springtime for Hitler, "The Producers")

I've been vith thousands of men
again and again
They alvays sing the same tune.
Alvays coming and going
and going and coming
And alvays too soon

(I'm Tired, "Blazing Saddles)

I still like "keep it happy, keep it snappy, keep it gay!"

This is a weird little song...but I can't help but love it!!!

Her name is Noel
I have a dream about her
She rings my bell
I got gym class in half an hour
Oh how she rocks
In Keds and tube socks
But she doesn't know who I am
And she doesn't give a damn about me

Cause I'm just a teenage dirtbag baby
Yeah I'm just a teenage dirtbag baby
I listen to Iron Maiden baby

Her boyfriend's a d***
And he brings a gun to school
And he'd simply kick
My a** if he knew the truth
He lives on my block
And he drives an Iroc
But he doesn't know who I am
And he doesn't give a damn about me

Cause I'm just a teenage dirtbag baby
Yeah I'm just a teenage dirtbag baby
Come listen to Iron Maiden baby, with me...woo-oo-oo-oo

Oh yeah
Dirtbag
No she doesn't know what she's missing
Oh yeah
Dirtbag
No she doesn't know what she's missing

Man I feel like mold
It's prom night
And I am lonely
Lo and behold
She's walking over to me
This must be fake
My lip starts to shake
How does she know who I am
And why does she give a damn about me

She said, "I got two tickets to Iron Maiden baby
Come with me Friday don't say maybe,
I'm just a teenage dirtbag baby
Like you!"

Oh yeah
Dirtbag
No she doesn't know what she's missing
Oh yeah
Dirtbag
No she doesn't know what she's missing
Yeah
