Yeah, West Virginia is the center of the Trump world.  Trump is gonna bring coal jobs back!  Except, there is no market for coal any more.  It's a filthy resource that we shouldn't be mining and there won't be any real resurgence in coal use.  BTW, West Virginia is rated as the most miserable state in the union.  There is a reason for that. All you neocons should move to West Virginia and get happy.  Maybe you can make the place less miserable.

If we all move, the producers in this state, the ones without state jobs, the ones who can't retire at 50 because we are in the private sector, if we all move you will have no one to tax anymore.   You, Tio Vinny, and who_dem won't have those publicly funded checks coming in anymore that you all live off of.   You might all have to go out and get real jobs...?  Chris

Yesterday, eight CEO's on the presidential business councils resigned their position because of his stand on white supremacist issues.  Despite the president's boast that he has 100's of CEOs ready to take their place, he completely disbanded both business councils today.

 

So, not only is our president overseeing the deconstruction of American society, he is attempting the same for corporate America.  Fortunately, the CEOs are smart enough to recognize the train wreck in Washington, and have departed.  Additionally, today the president sent out a tweet criticizing Amazon for killing jobs in the retail sector.  Maybe he's not the astute businessman everyone thought, or he would have recognized that Amazon's success has been driven by consumer demand, a fundamental tenet of a free enterprise capitalistic system.  Will the president start attacking free enterprise now?  Nothing is sacred to this man, so we'll see.

Good thing I moved my brokerage account and two 401K's to cash and some bonds, corporate bond funds in the last two weeks.....   Moved the last 35K to cash/bond fund yesterday. Was all in on stocks till about two weeks ago.   Just got a little bit in the S&P 500 index and some special stocks I like and a few gold mining and silver mining stocks/ETF's as a hedge.   Gonna wait this one out.  Valuations are high historically and October is coming up.  Closer to 60 years old than to 50 with maybe 6 years or so to retiring hopefully so I can't take a 40% hit now.   Did well in stocks the last few years and taking it off the table and parking it.  Not a big fan of making 1 to 4% but it's better than getting cut in half.  I'll trickle back in slowly over the next two years or so once valuations, price to book value, and PE's come back to more reasonable numbers.  Chris
