First, Good campaign Kerri. Glad you won again. Also it was nice to see that Kerri and Andy had very few or no illegal signs. I hear Andy was out picking some of his up last night. I will be driving around picking as many Kerri signs up as I can today and tomorrow.
I have the final results as:
Miklos 9,284 29.05%
Morin 8,553 26.77%
Howell 7,343 22.98%
Gordon 6,673 20.88%
Congratulations to all. Gordon did very well.
Yes, I wanted McClintock to win too.

Sad to wake up and see McClintock on the loss side. SF had a 40% voter turnout.
Well, scary stare guy (his eyes freak me out) looks as if he's got it:

That's only the Sac Co. vote and this is a statewide race. Garamendi won 49.5% to 44.9%.

Can you guys kiss and make-up now so we can figure out how to oust Starsky the next go-round?

With the exception of the one large sign on Riley, near Sutter, I think all of Kerri's political signs are down. (That large one will be down soon) If you see some still out there please let me know and I will get them.
I drove all around Folsom and took down all the signs that I had put up for her and a few that I just found and took down.
Wish the other candidates would get out and get theirs (including all the illegal ones) down.
Good campaign Kerri. It was a good clean win for you....

I see Miklos still peppered all over town. The high school wrestling team used to do a drive through the day after the election and pick up all the signs they could find. Does anyone know what happened to that good idea?

I just received a reply from Pete Piccardo, CCEO (Code Enforcement Supervisor)
Here is what he said.
Calvin, thanks for the email. Campaign signs are allowed up 60 days
prior and are to be down 7 days after. They're usually all picked up
by the 7th day. In the past, I think someone coordinated a cub scout crew
for the clean-up. I'm really not sure. We will be out next Monday to
catch whatever is left in the City. Thanks again.

I think that the person that the campaign signs belongs to should be responsible for getting them picked up.
Not the cub scout crew, or the wrestling crew. They should pick them up or pay some group to do it. It looks like they have until next Tuesday.

In the past some of the candidates would make a donation to have a group go around and have all of them down the night of the election.
In the last election, most of the candidates simply agreed to pick up ALL signs, including their opponets, when they were out picking them up...it didn't seem to make a lot of sense having all 8 driving all around town stopping to pick up 1 sign here and there.
I'll be most happy to recycle all large signs for anyone ( we paint them black and use them for the haunted House) ( we have to paint over all the names.... its already scary enough
), just didn't want to be accused of being environmentally incorrect!

Robert, that might be a nice idea if someone did not go out and plaster 100's of illegal signs the last night prior to election. Guess what is good for the goose is good for the gander.
Do you think that was right? There was over 40 signs put up on the corner of Riley and Blue Ravine alone and that was just one of them.
It is not right, it is illegal, but ????
If one does it, should everyone do it ????
Just wondering what you think...

Cal,
Yes, I've seen the signs. It is a violation of the sign ordinance, as it was 2 years ago and it was 4 years ago.
4 years ago, I recall a certain candidate making a big isssue about illegal signs and pretending to be on their high horse that they were better than others because they weren't doing this. Election day arrived and the person who was pretending to be more righteous than everyone else, regarding the sign ordninace, had illegal signs placed all over the place. Since, I had experience dealing with their "forgetful" memeory, I went out and took many pictures. Lets just say I didn't have to go far to get the pictures.
Now if someone acknowledges a past error and pledges not to do it again...I can respect that and am willing to keep going forward. However when someone pretends they are better than someone else for not doing something....but the reality is they made the same claim in the past and were guilty of doing the same thing without acknowledging their error....it smells of hypocrisy, IMHO
2 years ago, some of us talked to each other and we just picked up each others signs regardless where they were, because the election was over, it was time to move forward and it was the neighborly thing to do.
The election is over, Steve came in first, again. Andy came in second, again and Kerri was third, again. Michael, finished in fourth. We don't have to like the results or agree with the way our neighbors voted but it is what it is.
If anyone needs help removing their signs I'll help, its time to move on. In less than 2 years there is another election we got to get ready for!

Well, I think that changes should be made. People that do put up illegal signs should be fined for each one.
Let's change the rules and have everyone play fair. YES, forget the past, but play fair from now on. Either everyone flood the city with thousands of signs, fifty or so on every corner, or have rules and play the game fair.
