Attn: Conspiracy Theorists.

What possible reason would there be to instigate a cover up in the first place?

This morning there is police tape surrounding parts of "Bigfoot" park (on Turnpike) and a lot of people standing around, including (according to a neighbor) the principal of Natoma Station Elementary, Mr. Burns. Does anyone know what is going on there?

The guestbook for Andre's is now available at sacbee.com or legacy.com. It will permanately be available for all those to comments and read. Please help get the word out.

it is nice to see most people have stopped the attack on the Police, for the most part, and have turned there efforts toward grieving Andre......There still are a few people ie, farley and davbrr from the "other" forum that continue to keep the conspiracy theory alive. The * in Folsom500 last post does not really need to be there.....it seems that the family has accepted Andre's death as an accident and they are turning their efforts into educating other kids.....WELL DONE ANDERSONS!

I ask that people spread the love for the kids and educate them....we don't want more accidents to happen

Please get one thing perfectly clear the Andersons have NOT ruled out anything.

The lady who made one of the first 911 calls checked her phone log and it was 17 mins. before she made her second 911 call and still no police.

The Andersons are appalled at the attitude and actions (lack of action) of the police.

The man who found the body is in corrections and has inspected many a crime seen. His exact words are, "What I saw could not have been done by Andre himself."

There is a young man in question who may have been with Andre in the park.

That's very likely that someone else was involved in what appears to be a tragic "game." But, if so, that youngster will likely keep it to himself, so we'll never know. It doesn't negate the accidental nature of the death nor does it negate the opportunity that these parents are taking to help others to avoid this tragedy.

I have more faith in the police and their investigation than in the guy who found Andre and hopefully didn't interfere with the scene in a manner that would have given him some on-the-spot answers. There is nothing to blame on the police here. Getting there any sooner wasn't going to save Andre's life. They certainly have no interest in covering anything up as there is far more danger to the public in the rampant speculation that has gone on since the death. If they had facts other than what they're telling, they would probably use them to clear the air of the rumors of hangings, murder, etc.

She made her call to 911 from a cell phone. When you do that you are directed first to the CHP, which in turn has to direct you to the Folsom PD. The response time is always longer that way than dialing Folsom PD's direct emergency number (985-7551).

Having said that, it is my understanding others did call from land lines. I do not know what the response time was from their calls until the police arrived.

Attn: Conspiracy Theorists.

What possible reason would there be to instigate a cover up in the first place?

I've stayed out of this part of the discussion for a few days, but I see it won't die down.

Why, indeed, would a police department cover up a murder? What kind of person would do such a thing? Are we suggesting that Folsom cops the type to do that?

I can't imagine cops finding a dead child, concluding that it was murder, then conspiring to cover it up and fool the public, allowing the murderer to get away, and kill again and again.

Why would they?

From cops I know, the only thing they are trying to do is respect the family's privacy. They are following up on Andre's computer activities, and have interviewed people. Still, all evidence that I've heard about has pointed to a tragic accident. It wasn't that they were quick to jump to conclusions, it was that they felt it was obvious what had happened, and they wanted to protect the family's privacy.

To witnesses, untrained in such circumstances, it may have not seemed so obvious, but there is no conspiracy to hide a murder.

I've stayed out of this, too, but I thought I'd comment on the "cover up". According to a FHS student I know, it seems the general consensus is that the police just want it to appear that the case is closed so they can catch the person involved.

I thought that myself. We dont know all that is going on behind the scenes. I am willing to wait so the experts can do their jobs.

Just for the record, I didn't say I agreed with the theory, I was merely responding to Steve's question about why people would think that.

I'm very much in the camp of letting time pass and hoping everyone does what they should to find out what really happened. I don't think we know everything, and I don't really think it's our business. I really feel for the family and cannot imagine all they are going through.

I am in complete agreement with this.... Even tho I may have my own doubts about the cause, the fact that they haven't made an official statement on the cause of death tells me they aren't through investigating, and that's good enough for me. I'm sure that they are keeping any information that they have accumulated very close, both for the family's privacy, and to allow them to continue investigating until they feel they have looked at every angle.

Most importantly, right now, on the eve of Andre's Funeral services, we need to be thinking of the family and supporting them at this difficult time.
I assume full responsibility for my actions, except the ones that are someone else's fault.

It IS the parents that are questioning the issues and everything else - and that adds fodder to those of us that feel that there is more to this than what most see..

Hope we see many of you tomorrow at the services and reception afterwards and then at goodfellas on sunday the 25th
