Yes, of the eight place, only Mikuni actually served what they ordered. It was on Channel 3 on Wednesday night at 11:00pm.
The only other place I recognized with Oshima Sushi (off of El Camino near Watt... bought some See's Candy for Xmas gifts, too), which I went to in December and thought was pretty good.

Does TJ's even carry red snapper sushi?
I'm confident that our friendly sushi satisfaction is what we order, but I don't entirely know how to verify it. Maybe we should order a sample for that DNA testing. However, I'd probably just eat the sample.

Did they feed you something that made you heave all night? Did one (or more) of you have Too Many Sakes and do something way too colorful, like play Lingerie Twister while eating hand rolls? Do tell!
Personally, I think Aloha is overrated. But then, I lived in Midtown for decades, where there's a sushi bar on every block, so I've eaten sushi and sashimi in probably 25 or 30 different places in Sacramento, including a few in Fair Oaks and Citrus Heights. Doesn't make me an expert, just somewhat experienced. And if you haven't yet been, try Suishi Sushi. Their sashimi is so fresh it swims on your plate.
And who's the guy who insists that Trader Joe's sushi is The Bomb?

With all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is worth reflecting on the death of a very important person, which almost went unnoticed last week. Larry LaPrise, the man who wrote "The Hokey Pokey", died peacefully at age 93. The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into the coffin. They put his left leg in.
And then the trouble started.

We went last night, oh man so good. Fresh Aji, sashimi style, with fried head and bones. I think it's called aji tataki. Looked freaky, but oh so tasty!
