Spotted what is likely an 80's era moped at the grocery store.

Yay! We ask for cheap stuff. American company makes cheap stuff in China. China hires cheap labor. China pollutes the hell out of the air with no restrictions on emissions-factories so our stuff can be made cheap. Americans go to Wal-Mart to buy the cheap stuff. (Well at least I assume their factories have no restrictions, isn't that why it so polluted over there?)

I seriously doubt the 200 will and the 250 is questionable. At 290 lbs, you're either looking at a large scooter (500 range) or a small motorcycle.

There's definitely some truth to the old adage, you get what you pay for. I've had my Piaggio (Italian) for almost a week and have been very impressed by its performance, fit, and finish. Stick with a name-brand (Honda, Yamaha, Vespa, etc.) that has a dealer service and support network. I don't ever recall seeing an "Eagle Craft" dealer in my travels.
