What do you expect, I'm a musician?? And I prefer this guy: wacko.gif

My update: I got an email response from Erin that gave me the # to call for follow up. She told me to continue with the program and to call that # (815-741-3900) for an update. I did so and after being on hold, I talked to someone who looked up my account in less than 5 seconds with just my name and told me she'd give my name to her supervisor and they'd make sure my card got sent out right away. I asked her how she found me so quick (thinking it was a scam answer) but she confirmed my address without any prompt from me. Are there that few participants where they don't need an address or phone number to find me?? Strange. So I guess I'll send in my Oct. receipt and see if I get my card next week for August. She apologized and said they had WAY more people sign up at the same time so they're trying to catsup. Or is it ketchup?? ohmy.gif

JM, I am hearing differently. I am hearing that any NEW vouchers registered after Nov. 1
will be 10-12 weeks but that all of ours that (were registered back in July) would be
seeing Visa cards by Oct. 31st. I will try and call that woman you spoke to and get a
clarification.

Thanks RSD!! I appreciate it!

I think this reporter makes some excellent points and re-emphasizes what most of us believe:

I don't think the "free" gas and grocery promotions are helping Beck's any more than they did Bassett or Ashley.

Called MFT again today. Now I am told that there was a computer error which prevented the information needed to send me the Card from getting to Visa. They said the error has been fixed and they will make sure my card gets sent out today. I was also told that my September card will arrive 4-6 weeks from September 30th.

We shall see.

I actually expect to see my first card to arrive soon. Even BBZ send cards out to the people that wouldn't stop complaining. That is, until they went bankrupt.

Hey, at least they are telling you that you are GETTING a Visa from your Sept.
receipts. Mine got disqualified. I am trying to get Zack in the Customer Service
Dept. to pull those receipts and he promises to call me back. I haven't heard back
from him yet.

Kind of reminds me of the Phillies hitters who just try and grind away at opposing pitchers
in a war of attrition. We shouldn't have to be doing this but I am up for it. I'll keep
after them and I suggest that others do the same.

Of course they hold the last card in that if enough of us keep pestering they COULD
go Chapter 11 but I don't think Micheal Pouls wants the heat from that. Given that
he heads up a children's non-profit organization (Kidz Idz) and has other business
interests it seems doubtful he would play the bankruptcy card. He's more of a higher
profile guy then Troy Warren (BBZ) is.

fthomas, are you trying to tell me that this article, written by someone who truely knows the furniture store business model, says that these promotions will provide short-term gains but will hurt long-term sales?

Weird... Don't tell SacDJ. This could really hurt his self confidence.

RSD, I'm not worried about MFT going chapter 11. If that happens I will get the money I'm owed from Becks. I know you don't have that luxury.

I have read all your posts. I live in Wisconsin and have also been scammed by a furniture store promotion. My experience parallels yours. The first company BBZ went bankrupt. The furniture store then hooked me with claimyourvisacard.com. I sent my first receipts in August and have yet to hear from them. I emailed them 2 weeks ago and they claimed never having received any receipts from me. I called the furniture store today and they gave me this number 1-800-887-3515 ext 11 and said talk to Shelly. Of course he was out. The furniture store called me back and said they had talked to this guy and that everything is supposed to be in the mail. I'll believe it when I see it.

I got a follow up email yesterday that said (after I told them I finally got through on the phone) that if I talked to someone that I should my first card soon.

Its kind of funny reading all these post... Tidewater was a scam, so was BBZ... MyFreeTravel has been doing similar voucher programs for years and just recently picked up the gas and grocery ones. The majority of you don't seem to realize MFT picked up over 100,000 defunked vouchers from BBZ, it takes time to get caught up. Patience is a virture. A lot of you sound like a bunch cry babies over $25 a month, over a two year span.

Have a nice night

According to the lady who represented Bassett Furniture in our court case against them, they purchased their third set of vouchers from MyFreeTravel ... not accepted them at no charge ... they purchased them. And then MyFreeTravel charged money to voucher holders to register them. I would have thought that by now they would have had at least enough money to send out one month's gift cards.

I think you meant to say defunct ... which is what MyFreeTravel will become if they don't start fulfilling their obligations. And while patience might be a virture I don't think it applies here. False advertising is a crime and the companies continuing to pass out these bogus certificates should be prosecuted.
