Brookes performance reminded me of a live performance I saw once in the late 70's... I can't think of his name.. but he's a real famous black crooner and his name just escapes me now... maybe I'll think of it while I'm typing here.. anyway.. he got this awful cough and couldn't get rid of it... but he was able to just ride it out and the audience gave him a huge applause... cause after all... we'd heard him sing this song so many times... and we knew the guy could really sing....
so I think this is the same thing with Brooke... she's connected with a lot of fans... I'm actually going to vote for her next week...
Jason I thought would have been in the bottom and I knew when they called Carly along with Syesha that Carly was going... she's just a "screamer".. and while she was good starting out during the beginning... I think she's kind of one a one trick pony...
The Davids...? what can you say...
I think that this group.. the top 10 will be as good as the season 5 group that had 9 out of the 10 get contracts..
Syesha is a sexy little thing and she's got it going.. I think Randy was right.. she could do Broadway... after all they showed two other past AI contestants that are on Broadway today making a living at it...
David Cook if he gets some good song writing help will get an album out and be a hit like Daughtry....
I'm waiting to see what happens to Kristy Lee and Brooke after this is over...
And by the way... if you listen to Tom Sullivan, next Wed he'll have Carly on the show.. apparently they all make the rounds in New York with interviews... I heard Chekieze (spelling) on his show after he was booted... nice kid... he's got a future too...
Next week should be interesting wtih a lot of Neal Diamond's songs.. he's written so many and I hope Brooke picks a good one because she does have the voice to some of his ballads and she could do it in a nice country singer style....
Which songs do you think the Davids should do out of Neal Diamond's song list....?

I completely agree and I think thats cool they go do Tom Sullivan's show, he's the new Larry King (IMO)
I also agree about Neal Diamond's song, lots of very good choices - I look forward to that show.
I'd like to hear Cook sing "Love on the rocks" or "America"
Archuletta should sing "Song Sung Blue" or "September Morn"

In other words....would Carly be able to audition next year and go thru the process again?
I am pretty sure the answer is "no"....but how far can you get? I've seen folks who "went to Hollywood" one year audition and get to go again in a following year, but is there a cut off? (final 20?, final 12?)

Most of these folks will drift back into obscurity.
No offense to Neil Diamond fans, but I've hated 99% of his songs, and tonight didn't change that. They are at once campy and melodramatic, and sung by that group, they sounded even worse.
Boring, lackluster, forgettable, crap.
Other than that, no opinion.

They really sucked last night - almost all of them. ...and I like Neil Diamond and have several of his albums
Jason Castro just plain sucked, it really looks like he's doing that on purpose now and doesn't want to be on the show anymore - even the judges mentioned that he hasn't been himself the last two weeks - I think he wants out and is tired of having to work so hard or something like that....or maybe he's tired of getting ragged on by all the judges?
Brooke - oh man.... the first song was a disaster, the second one was ok but she has got to be one of the bottom two now for sure
David Cook did great again, his second song was outstanding, his first one was ok. He's my pick to win the entire thing
David Archuletta - continues to bore the hell out of me with his "aaaaaahhhhh" voice, its so monotone - no life whatsoever. As always I guage the songs based on if I would buy it or not - there has not been one song by Archuletta that I'd ever want to add to my music library. He sucks, I just don't get why the judges are so ga ga over him, its making me sick watching Randy gush all over this kid. Yeah he's a good singer - BUT CAN HE SELL ALBUMS? (other then to the geriatric set? cause no teenage girl would ever buy that stuff)
Sayesha really surprised me, I thought she did great and made a great comeback this week, she's got a beautiful voice and she's got a good stage presence. I don't get why Simon doesn't like her - I get the feeling he wants her off the show because he comments to her really sucked last night and for the first time I have to say he was dead wrong about her
..... now about Paula... what the heck is wrong with that woman? she did the dumbest thing I've ever seen her do on the show when she was reviewing them for the one song she started rambling on about the second song... which they hadn't even performed yet! I think she was either high or is getting really dingy and stupid lately. Listening to her incoherently babble when reviewing the candidates...I could barely figure out if she was saying she liked or disliked them - hard to figure out what she's trying to say

The whole layout of the show seemed off balance and rushed. Usually they seem to have a lot of time but having them do 2 songs each really made for a fast pace. Almost all the songs were horrible. At this point in the show there should really be great performances every time but it aint happening. There won't be any "what?!?!" moments for who gets voted off next, then after that, and after that as they all have been performing really poorly except Cook.

You're right, the show did seem a bit off last night.
I wish to heck they'd pick some newer pop/rock music format to focus on - or let them go free form and pick whatever music suits them best so we can finally see their true talents shine
anyone know what the theme is for next week?
