You have no idea how many times people's eyebrows have raised when I say I live next to the dam rd.
I always have to explain.....

Dave: Take Folsom Blvd to the dam road
Guest: What road?
Dave: the dam road
Guest: you don't need to curse
Dave: I wasn't it's the name
Guest: what's the name?
Dave: Oh never mind just go up to the Lake crossing
Guest: okay so I'll be crossing over the lake
Dave: well no but you take the crossing
Guest: what is it crossing over?
Dave: The river
Guest: so the lake crossing, crosses the river?
Dave: Exactly
Guest: No wonder you call it the Damn Rd.

..Dave's not here.., ..no man, it's ME Dave!

bridge over troubled waters
Now there's a song by a peace loving duo.
Wait, am I in the wrong topic?

go down to Hazel and cross the American river, look east, and you will see the Nimbus Dam that holds back the waters known as Lake Natoma (why the dam & resulting lake have different names is beyond my scope of knowledge in this matter).
there also are at least 3 creeks that feed lake Natomas other than the American river outflow from Folsom Dam.
A.) Thanks for the explination
B.) So if we weren't geographically challenged....would the accurate and literal name of the structure be "American River Bridge"?
C.) After much consideration, I think the best method is to use what I call "The Artist formerly known as Prince" method and call it the "The structure formerly known as the Folsom Dam road".

No.
What I really don't get--is that the site has not been updated since Feb. 2007.
Oh, yeah--they try really hard to keep the local residents "in the know" about this bridge.
Stinkin arseholes were out there this morning at 5AM beeping their stupid construction trucks again this morning.
