I'll pass on the weekend cooking festivities. It sounds like a great idea but I'd rather cook each day and not for a couple of hours on the weekend. Plus, for dinner you would have to cook stuff still. You can't freeze everything.

Also, I mentioned I cook but I'm not a good cook. I need to polish up my skills a bit. I make simple stuff and nothing too elaborate. Hopefully that will change with time. Now that it's winter I can start using our slow cooker. I haven't tried it out yet. We lived in an apt for 3 1/2 years with NO counter top space in the kitchen. I could hardly make sandwiches. So I will blame it on that. Now we have space!
Why don't you guys cook for your wives? I'm sure they would enjoy you taking over the kitchen as long as you don't burn it down. I'm sure they'll be happy to point out where stuff is because we know guys never know where anything is in the house since we have a spot for everything. Don't forget to do the dishes too!

Tried boiling water once.... burned the pot....
I didn't mean a cooking marathon during the weekends, but if you're cooking dinner anyway, just make more - cook for 4, have your regular dinner meal and freeze the other 2, then the next day if you do the same you have 4 meals for the week. If you want more then just make believe you're cooking for 6.
