okily dokily - we are now rescheduling... (hope everyone can still make it)

burger tasting for this week - changed to:

Thursday Oct 2nd at noon at Bidwell Street Bistro

That may work for me. Today has turned into I can't and tomorrow a potential customer is coming to visit our facility. But Thursday is looking open enough for me to take an extended lunch break. What is the preferred meeting time? 11:30 or high noon? eat.gif
I would rather be Backpacking

At the risk of raining on the burger parade. 'Who has the best burger in Folsom' is, in my mind the same as, 'who has the best glass of water.'

I've found 90% of restaurant burgers to be about identical in taste and quality.

I have to agree with you a bit on this.... in fact, I was just thinking about this the other day.... for classic basic burgers - they really are all the same; burger, buns, lettuce, tomato, sauce and slight variations- but essentially they are all the same - 'cept maybe for ...freshness, quality, and slight variations of ingredients, but that's about it...

On the gourmet burgers however, they tend to stand out as individuals with unique food pairings and intense flavors with a higher grade quality of beef. I think so far Folsom Bistro and Karens, who I both put in the gourmet category, have each been very unique.

You bring up a good fact - maybe we should limit this burger tasting to just gourmet burgers? - which would make sense because we already know that in-n-out makes the best classic fast food hamburger biggrin.gif

In'n'Out is not in Folsom (yet).

If you're going to branch out, we'd have to count places like the Squeeze.

nope Folsom ONLY! In-n-Out has the "coming soon" sign up - that's close enuf since we already know how they taste.

Another question now comes to mind.. if there is what we call the classic basic hamburger (in-n-out/big dip, carls jr), and the gourmet hamburger (folsom bistro, bidwell street bistro, karens)...

what would we classify places like Red Robbin or Islands?

I think you have Classic/Fast, Restaurant, and Gourmet.

Restaurant also includes places like BJ's, Islands, Mels, etc.

IMO, Manderes burger rides their usual line as being Restaurant, with a Gourmet touch.

Seconded. I was thinking Basic, Plus and Premium like unleaded gasoline but that doesn't sound right especially with this list.

For fast food, I like Wendy's cheese burgers the best. I like mine very well done with just Ketchup on them.

McDonald's french fries are the best.

A VETERAN Whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount "up to and including their life". That is HONOR, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it. -Author unknown-
