Kirah,

As per the guidelines, I can change if it is approved. It just needs to blend in with my street.
So instead of having this pinkish main color, I should be able to pick the color a neighbor has and it should be fine. I reconfirmed this with the lady at the office.

Eeestl,

Glad you called the office. They have changed their policy because when I bought 3 years ago...they said NO, you can't change it. They must be receiving increased pressure to allow folks to do what they want.

I submitted 3 combinations of color. Nothing weird. All taken out of the contemporary and classic combinations from kelly moore. So Let's see what happens. If not one of them is approved, then there is definitely something wrong with the committee, because we made sure that those combinations would not stand out too much.

Let's hope I can get rid of those pinkish trims :-)

Had no problem getting one of the combinations approved. And I realized earlier this week that that exact same combination is used somewhere else in the new parkway (I am in the old one), so no wonder it got approved. Now I can't wait to see my house painted :-)

I'd love to see some before/after photos.

Before and after. Are they too tiny to see anything?
And the lighting is not the same. Oh well, you get the idea anyway. Went from pinkish to greyish brown.

Oh, and the front door is now black. Something you can't see in the picture.

Personally I think Parkway resident support should supersede HOA in all things at all times.... after all, they are SUPPOSED to represent us. As far as I am concerned, if my neighbor wants a helicopter pad on his roof, and a majority of his neighbors don't mind, I say, "helicopter rides for everyone!"

We've lived in the Parkway 1 year, and do not regret our decision. The HOA is exactly what we were looking for. We had to have colors and backyard plans approved. Fine. We still got what we wanted, which shows that if your requests are reasonable, they will be approved.

I hope you are not insinuating that a helicopter pad is unreasonable....

There is no way I would like my neighbor to have one, and this is exactly why I chose to live here with this HOA.

I was too sick of project cars sitting in the driveway and stuff like that.

My point was not to actually suggest the appropriateness of a helicopter pad, of course - but that if the neighbors support your pad, car, color, whatever... they are the, well, ruling democtatic community, not a bureaucracy.

Is that a run-on sentence?
