He was asking what Kobe Style was, not who he is. All I needed to say was Kobe Bryant.

BTW...not all of the victims know each other.
What is a bigger shame is that there were about 40 kids and parents that showed up at the courthouse in support of the accused. Not a single one in support of the victims. There are some sick people in this town. Makes me assamed to be living here.
The victim was taken to the hospital within minutes of the rape. Watch the news. The case will be public due to the seriousness of the charges. The truth will be in full view soon.

I feel for you. I've never understood why people want to support teens accused of rape and other crimes.
They often talk about it 'ruining' the boy's future, or suggest that the girls made up the story, or that it was consentual.
It makes me sick as well.
I know, he's really a good kid, right? Isn't that what they always say?

For his efforts, he might see the inside of the CYA until he is 25.

My thoughts and prayers are with your daughter, your family, and all those affected by this very tragic incident.
The bravery needed for an assault victim to report the crime is so often underestimated. I believe I speak for many in wishing for justice and healing for those involved.

On a side note, I hope that some of the more immature posters on this site now recognize that there are real people experiencing real tragedies in our own neighborhoods. Their snide comments on their experiences are not only not appreciated by those of us not directly impacted by these terrible events but are truly hurtful to those that are.

| As the father of one of the victims, I can say that she has rec'd no benefit from coming forward. She understands the seriousness of the charges. She has been ran off from the school by all of the friends of the boy charged. It's a real shame that her friends of many years have turned on her. You would not beleive the pain felt by her speaking up. BTW...not all of the victims know each other. What is a bigger shame is that there were about 40 kids and parents that showed up at the courthouse in support of the accused. Not a single one in support of the victims. There seems to be something really haywire about this case.
As a former high school teacher, I cannot believe that the administration, security, teachers, and some students out of a population of 2,500, would not be able to protect your daughter at school. Surely not everyone of her friends has turned against her. If that is the case they were never friends.
I am curious as to what kind of power the boy has that he can draw a crowd to the courthouse and the victim none. That is so lopsided that it is difficult to understand.
You mention that not all of the victims know each other, so presumably then they had different groups of friends. Are the other victims able to attend school or have they been run off to home schooling also?
As you say the truth will be in full view soon. The truth is what is most essential. The truth truly does set one free.
Please note I am not questioning a thing you wrote, merely questioning in my own mind why the response at school is so lopsided.

I am so sorry to hear about this. It is an absolute travesty that the victims of rape are so often blamed. How anybody can stand back and talk about how this "ruined the future" of the rapist is beyond me.
I wish that this would never have happened to your daughter, or any other rape victim. I wish that more people would understand who the real victims are in cases like these rather than rushing to support the accused. I HOPE that whoever did this will get what is coming to them and that they'll never have the opportunity to committ such a crime again.
My prayers are with you and your family.

Reminds me of a movie my hubby and I recently watched called "The Magdalaine (sp?) Sisters" (based on a true story) about these young girls growing up in Ireland that are sent away to a convent where they "work away" their sins indefinetly. These sins included being raped by a cousin, getting pregnant and flirting with boys! It's such a shame that , in this day and age, some people still want to hold the victim accountable for the crimes committed against them!

Statistics show that 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys are sexually assaulted by the young age of 18.
All of these young ladies that have been victims luckily have been taught by parents, teachers and their loving community that their voices are a powerful tool and that no one should have to shoulder the burden of this sexual assault alone. They will continue to hold their heads up high because they know that the right thing to do is not the easiest thing to do and that the truth will prevail.
Coming forward and having the strength to follow through will keep these types of crimes from happening to other young ladies. We need to support those that are victims and unite showing every perpetrator of these heinous crimes WE WILL NOT STAND FOR OUR CHILDREN BEING SEXUALLY ASSUALTED!
I challenge each of the misguided parents and children who attended in support of the accused to find information on sexual assault and make yourselves knowledgeable about the violent act. Remember “Knowledge is Power”.
