The Folsom Cordova Unified School District has a public preschool program held at most elementary schools, "Parenting the Preschooler" parenting class. It's a co-op preschool offered at a lot of Folsom schools. It usually has a waiting list and you have to have a TB test to get on the list. Denise Franklin at 635.6810 is the contact.

????
I know the owner of kinder care. Very nice lady. However she has been burned by a few parents that don't pay. It has made her a bit jaded around the 1st of the month. I think she does a great job hiring people who care about kids--but it is not a pre-school. That was my experience 10 years ago anyway. More like a day care. Maybe it's changed since then.

I should probably clarify. I'm referring to the So. Lexington Kindercare. I can't say anything about the other locations. As for So. Lex, it's horrible. I can name AT LEAST five parents who took their kids out because of how bad it is. With so many other great choices, I cannot see why anyone would take their child there.

Add me to the list for the S Lexington location. The management is horrible. My son's last teacher was horrible and I know someone who used to teach there and have heard the stories- awful.

I'm new to Folsom and is looking for a daycare for my 8 months old. We have now choosing between Phoenix School and CCLC in Folsom. I wonder which one would you recommend and if you had any good or bad experience with either of these two schools. Thanks a lot!!

Hi everyone,
I'm new to Folsom (3 weeks) and am currently living in Empire Ranch. I am looking for a pre-school/Pre-K program for my 4 1/2 yr old. It is hard to find a program that has openings at this time of year so I thought I would see if anyone here could make some recommendations. I've checked into Folsom Montessori, Fireflies (full) and Bright Beginnings. Does anyone have any other recommendations or opinions on pre-schools in Folsom?
Thanks in advance for any info.

We are also new to Folsom and living in Empire Ranch for 4 weeks now. I hope you love it here as much as we do. I also have a 4 1/2 year old son. We decided to take him to Froggy Frontiers in EDH. I also heard that Busy Bees is fantastic (also in EDH)...but both are very close since we are right here.

We have been with Pheonix and have many friends who have been with Pheonix for years.
Other than your normal issues that you will deal with any school/daycare, we have been very happy.

We are very happy with Lil Scholars Preschool. Been there 2 years. http://mylilscholars.com/
Ditto that Bright Beginnings is a good school. My son wasn't potty trained so he couldn't attend.

There is a brand new preschool opening in Folsom for August 2010 ~You Are My Sunshine Preschool. This is a home-based preschool, but with qualified, experienced preschool teachers that will be teaching. The owner/director is also a credentialed California teacher. It is built on a hands-on, active learning philosophy - lots of music, art, science, gardening, social play, etc - but with a final goal of Kindergarten Readiness using Zoo-phonics for pre-reading and Handwriting Without Tears for writing skills. Check it out at www.youaremysunshinepreschool.com ~ the small classes are filling up fast. There is also a summer program offered with an emphasis on science for July 2010. Kids will love the hands-on learning approach and parents will love how well-prepared the kids will be for Kindergarten. Reasonably priced ~ 2 and 3 day three hour programs.
