Why do so many places these days have 'iffy' service?? Hell, if I knew of ONE place that had excellent service consistently, I'd be a regular customer of theirs. Just ONE place....is that asking too much ?? letseat.gif

That would not be so hard if everyone had the SAME idea of what good or excellent service was.

Some people don't mind the things others will not forgive, and vise versa.

Places I have never received bad service:

GoodFellas
Mr. Pickles
Express Gourmet

Granted, they are all quick places and not the fancy pants places, but there I cannot help you. We won't go back to Visconti's as the service we received there was atrocious. Other "nicer" places have also been hit or miss. I agree with Andrea, I think it can be really subjective. The three places above are the three places that popped straight to mind when I consider "consistent flawless service".

And hey, at least I save money, as they aren't as fancy pants as some other places in Folsom.
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING MY GIRL.
We could not be doing this without you.
Much love and gratitude.

Once again we have a disagreement. I've had at least 2 occasions at Bailies where the service was horrible. Seated quickly then abandoned. People arriving after us getting their food quicker, etc.

I think fast food is the only place to get consistenty fast food since they are on that electric shock timer and have to get you something in under 2 min or else....

maybe it was your attitude? you kinda are the purveyor of doom around here and a bad attitude usually gets bad service - just a guess...

every single time we've been there the service has been outstanding - but then again I'm a nice guy and treat the staff with respect and always get good service as a result

attitude is everything

What is you big rush? If you pay for a nice sit down meal you should take the time to enjoy the food/drink/ambiance. Its not a race to see who can get their food first. I actually don't like waiters who try to take my food order as soon as I sit down. I tell them to come back later...

If you want fast food go to Mickey D's:)

Please, don't lump me in with guys like EDF and _john_ ok. When I go out I'm a normal person, um, just like you! Service can suck without even saying a word to the wait person don't ya think? How's that work? Do they have some kind of automatic mental attitude reader at the door???

I agree, and the last time I took my wife to Bailies we were there almost 2 hours and enjoyed every minute of it and the food came out in perfect time.

now Darth before you go off saying 2 hours is too long, keep in mind, that was drinks, appetizers, meal's, deserts and after dinner port

Bailies is the ultimate dining experience but don't ever expect to get in and out in 30 minutes or less

While there's really no excuse for bad service, I'm willing to overlook a few bad experiences at a particular restaurant if they have really good food, especially if it's somewhere unique and not a chain. I know every place of business has a bad day here and there. I also know that family run restaurants can have certain staff that are a little quirky or tempermental. But I really value the good family run restaurants out there and, as long as the issues are few and far between (and not TOO bad), then I'll be back. Visconti's is a prime example. Although I know a few people here have had REALLY bad experiences, and I understand we all have a limit beyond which we're just feeling mistreated.
