No matter the choices the owners of Pachanga's have made, it appears the worst seems to be that they've surrounded themselves by a bunch of busybodies who can't keep their nose in their own business and out of others'.

Or is it just one person with too much time on their hands talking to themselves again? Who can even tell these days?

I don't care about any one's personal life. I am curious if anyone knows if the restaurant is closed for good. I saw the lease signs in the windows and that the restaurant was closed, but I hear rumors that they're just remodeling. Does any one know? Hopefully the owners won't be so put off by their personal lives being discussed like it should be any one's business other than their owns (its not and who cares any way) that they don't post some information.

All I want to know is if Pachanga's is really gone or not.

4thgen: I definitely wasn't directing my comments to you! I agree with you. It would be great to have information on the status of the restaurant itself, as a business.

My comments were to the others (one?) who felt the need to talk about things that are none of anyone's business. Let's leave the personal lives of the owners, managers, waitstaff, etc out of it!
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING MY GIRL.
We could not be doing this without you.
Much love and gratitude.

True or not, is that really our business and do you really feel it's appropriate for you to take it upon yourself to spread that information?
Are you Spicy with yet another new screen name?

Good grief - that's bad!

I'm with 4thgen..... I want Pachanga's to stay open, was hoping the remodel would be done soon so I could take my lady there for some fine dining

I'll be bummed out if they're closing for good sad.gif

We all know that's what you meant. I'm sure the tiresome and boring person who keeps trying to air dirty laundry in a cowardly and immature manner with no regard to the fact that their barbs are probably hurting nice people as well as whoever their unfortunate target is know that as well.

I would ask this "person" to seriously consider editing their posts or deleting them entirely. I could give a rat's patooty about the personal lives of the owners of restaurants I frequent.

Pachangas i closed. The space is for lease. Maybe a new owner will purchase the space and all thats in it and keep the name...unlikely, but possible.

There's a sign on the window saying it's for lease, so it appears new owners will be there soon. Too bad since it's a great location. Anyone who can't money there can't make money anywhere. Hey, that almost sounds like a song. I hope the new owners will do things right and take advantage of the great locale. rolleyes.gif

It seems to make sense, but the reality is that people tend to go out to eat at the chains at East Bidwell near 50. Macaroni Grill, BJ's, Ruby Tuesdays, Mimi's, all packed every weekend. You could go down Sutter, and the only restaurant with a wait is Chicago Fire.

I'd go to Pachanga on a Saturday night and it would be nearly empty.

The restaurant business in Folsom is very competitive, at best. I think with the current economy, we're going to see many restaurants go out of business.

I heard on the news, that Starbuck's was experiencing fewer sales than usual. I imagine that folks are beginning to cut back on things not essential, to be able to fill their gas tanks.

I know my family is. If one doesn't, they will be going into debt with their charges and living above their means.

So, we are looking at the prices on the menus and eating out less often.

Yes, I think so too. Maybe the Pachanga's location would do better as a old fashioned diner, rather than more high end with the bar/club atmosphere. Patsy's Soda Parlor used to do so well serving sandwiches and pie, etc. The daytime restaurants on Sutter Street do okay. Seasons always had a line at lunch time and Sutter Street Grill packs them in for breakfast and lunch too. I think Seasons would have done even better if they had parking on the street. New owners will reopen that space in a few weeks. Sutter Street needs more parking in general to get people in. No one is going to park in a parking garage and walk up for dinner.

A couple of restaurant owners I know recently told me that people are eating at the bar rather than the restaurant. They buy a couple of drinks and a couple of appetizers and get out for half of what they would have otherwise.

My wife and I have done that in the past...but it was because we were starving and couldn't handle the long wait to get a table. In the rear future, we may have to do that just to be able to get out for a meal, once in a while.

I've noticed the prices of drinks have gone up to $2.50 just to get a coke in a restaurant! So, we order water from now on. I'll be damned if I'm going to pay that much for a coke! I noticed also, they don't place the price of drinks on many menus. So, it can be a real shock to a party of four, to learn that $10 was for the sodas alone. Ruby Tuesday's do give free refill for sodas, but I go to a restaurant to eat, not drink. The bottom line is, they won't be selling as many cokes, for ANY price. In my mind it's better to sell a soda for a buck, than sell no soda at all.

Those restaurants that want to stay in business, in the coming recession, will have to lower their prices and increase their quality. But, many won't do that, and thus, they will lose their business. We are going to see many of them go down.

It's sad when businesses don't understand the power of the economy and adjust their prices accordingly.

Maybe they have to raise their prices to account for all the increase's-minimum wage-workers comp-food prices incease 5% at least
just an idea?
