Yeah, I agree. If you have the right business idea and great service, I think anything will survive. People are looking for something out of the ordinary. Steve...can a guy get a fat juicy steak with his wine?

Not there. They have small plates. Appetizer and Salad-type stuff. Do wine and apps there, then move on to The Ravine for a steak. I'm gonna try their rack of lamb.

They're open!

I dropped in last night. Really nicely done space. Great service. The owners, Jeff and Gail were there. Jeff is a certified sommelier and as such is truly a wine expert. I'll learn a lot from him.

They've only got a few local wines, which is great because we get to try things you don't ordinarily see around here, such as a German Pinot Noir and a Tempranillo actually from Spain.

Wife and I each tasted 3 wines and we had a bruschetta appetizer.

Atmosphere is classy but casual.

I think they're on to something there, and with Mexquite on one end and the Ravine on the other, I'm guessing that center will become more popular.

Check 'em out.

Went there for the first time last week with Ronda, very very nice place, we had a good time tasting a few wines and enjoying the cheese plate they have.

I'm looking forward to going back again soon

Popped in tonight. Half off all appetizers. Had the poki and bruschetta. Both excellent.

Tried Pinots from Oregon and Germany.

They've got cold beer, too!

Wine tasting Wednesdays start tomorrow, with Mt. Aukum pouring their favs. $10 includes tastings and appetizers.

Stopped in for the opening last night. Was pretty busy, but it's a nice place. Certainly just head there for appetizers, I was still hungry after eating almost everything on the menu smile.gif Flavorfull, but they only have a cold kitchen, so no steak to go with that nice Tempranillo.

Great wine, nice people. I'll certainly be back.

I then popped over to The Ravine for dinner. Always great food and service there! Thanks again Jonathan and Gita!

I won't be able to make it tonight, sick as a dog. Have fun and I'll hit another one instead.

...or go for desert...

Yes - nice place. Tasty... Glad the small plates were 50% off...
I like how they also offer take-home prices should one really enjoy a particular varietal.

Very nice night tonite at the Back Wine Bar - tasted some outstanding wines from Mt Auckum winery and had fun hanging out with Stevethedad, Rosemary and his neighbor Scott the sports cooking guy

Afterwards went to The Ravine and found they were doing wine tasting there from DK wineries - also from the Fairplay area. Had a couple of very good appetizers and a desert that was paired with a chocalet port that was fantastic

What a great night out, learned all about two local wineries at two different places

I think I just found a new Weds night ritual....

Cheers
Dave
