I'm here (thanks for asking) - I rode out this morning at 7am, but I take Riley to Folsom-Auburn to head to work in Roseville.
I don't ride out on Iron Point too often but it is pretty fast there - its the cars that make it dangerous
This morning - I had 3 cars trying to race me and speeding like crazy, but I don't play that game, especially in Roseville where the speed limit is 45 and the cops are everywhere
Yesterday on the way home some retard in a mercedes veered across 3 lanes twords me and fortunately I saw him coming, I knew he was going to come into my lane even though I was already there - he missed me by 2 feet and I had to swerve around him (making sure nobody was in the lane next to me first). I pulled up next to him and shook my head - he's lucky I didn't cuss him out - the retard was of course on his cell phone and he just waved an apology.. I try not to let stuff like that get to me but its really irritating that some drivers are totally clueless, wreckless and distracted with their @$^!@#$^!@ cell phones
Drivers out there - BE CAREFULL and leave earlier instead of speeding and putting others at risk

oh crap there were no other cars involved - that was rider error to the extreme
kind of wierd because I was out riding at 7am too and the sun didn't seem to be that bright.... she might not have been paying attention in a curve or something?

I go up that hill every morning, and the sun is very blinding at that time of the morning. I can block most of it with my visor, but how does a motorcycle block out sun?

"Police said they think the motorcycle was heading into the sun at the time of the wreck and hit a curb. No other vehicles were involved."
That looks like it might have been a windshield or fairing of sorts. and it looks like that was a Harley Road King classic. Thats a pretty big bike and it looks like it was loaded up with the saddlebags and tour pack

its nearly impossible to block the sun while riding - only thing that can be done is wear good sunglasses, and squint a lot
I'm going to check with a few friends to find out if they knew her or if she was in the Folsom Harley Owners Group

He told me she was once the director of the Hangtown Hog Chapter (harley owners group) before that shop closed and she was a good rider.

very possible
from what my bud told me - she was a good rider and very active in the club and had participated on a lot of rides (sounded like she was a seasoned rider).... doesn't seem like she would have crashed with no other vehicle involvment - you could be right about that theory but who knows..

The theory about a car veering into her is very plausible, especially with the report of her skill level from Davburr. I've dealt with that more than once both on my bike and in my car - so far without incident.
