That's true, and while you're recording an HD program, no other sets can watch HD. I hear they are planning to upgrade near the end of the year.

Yes. True. I also heard that they will be implementing "Whole House DVR", meaning that all the tvs in the house (connected to receivers) can watch what's on the one DVR (which also can record 4 shows at once)....Supposed to be in the 2nd half of this year as well.
I assume full responsibility for my actions, except the ones that are someone else's fault.

Just be aware that Comcast Digital is analogue, Comcast HD is high loss compressed...

While the digital is indeed digital, it really doesn't mean anything unless there is enough bandwidth...

Check-out this data gathering:
http://www.avsforum....d.php?t=1008271

Here are some comparative examples...
Both are broadcast at 1080 lines. The first one is what you should expect. The second is what Comcrap does to fit more "HD" in the same space. (Red Hot Chili Peppers

Verizon FIOS (full HD)

Comcrap (low bit rate "HD")

If that's the kind of programming you watch, you deserve crappy image quality.

Comcast Digital packages include *purchased* channels in the 1 through 99 range, which is analogue.

There are digital equivalents of *some* of these channels in the 200+ range, but far from all of them.

They also make the audacious claim to offer "hundreds of digital cable channels," when it's really 73 analogue, 35 compressed digital duplicates of the same analogue channels, and a few digital-only channels.

I just can't stand how they can blatantly lie to people and get away with it!!!

You can complain about the compression but one episode of SNL in HD takes up like a quarter of the hard drive on my Comcast DVR so it's probably just as well wacko.gif

If you recall, Bill got called out precisely for lying. Hillary will be, too, soon enough.

Only counts if under oath and not a baseball player.

Not my viewing - just an example of Comcastic Compression Technology.

However I think I would find RHCP more fulfilling than Rambo IV.
I course I haven't been watching either, and I don't have Comcrap or Verizon service.
