Of all the things you nut up about you're going to pick pirates? Who else will save us from the ninja menace?

I love pirates. If I won the lottery, I would not buy a yacht... I'd buy a huge Pirate Ship!
But the skulls and cross bones thing... it is just part of our style... I can't explain it to my mom either, older people just don't get it. Sorry, I did not mean to call you old, but.... well your teenage daughter gets it
PS davburr You are right.

Hey, I might be old to some peoples standards, but I'll never quit being a Dead Head.
Have you ever heard the Grateful Dead? My Mom and Dad were into the Grateful Dead too. Just one big happy family of hard rockers!
My daughter couldn't explain the skulls either, and that got me thinking it's just a fad. That's cool...I don't have anything against it. I just thought there was a deeper meaning to it.

Sounds like we grew up very similar, except I was raised by a single mother. She used to sing 'Truckin' to my son when he was a baby, and has asked that we play 'Ripple' at her funeral.
If you haven't read Phil Lesh's book, "Searching for the Sound", go out and buy it TODAY. It is fabulous, and the inside cover art was done by my favorite artist, Al Hirschfeld. It just doesn't get any better than that.
If you can't find it - I'd share. It is a must read, though.

I went up on Amazon.com and ordered it. I just hope I get to it before the end of the year. I have a pile of books to read. My personal saying is, "So many books, so little time." LOL!
I've lost track of the latest in what is going on with each of the artists of the original Grateful Dead. Heard they had started a new band a while back, and so forth, but haven't really been that interested because I prefer the band of the old days. After Jerry died, it all sort of got lost. Sad that bands can't go on forever, but at least the music never dies.
Now I listen to the oldies......thanks for the tip on the book.

Jackie Green, Oak Ridge graduate 1998, is the lead singer and multi-percussionist in Phil Lesh's band. Check him out if you get the chance
And I know what you mean about the books - it's hard to find the time, but I seriously can't say enough about Phil Lesh's book. I literally couldn't put it down. In fact, my flight home was over-booked, and I accepted a $300 Luv Bucks bribe from SouthWest to take a later flight and stayed in Kansas City and finished my book.
Whatever you already have in your queue - Move "Searching for the Sound" up to the front. We'll chat about it later - Enjoy!

Ummm....Hey, Chris. I watched my daughter go completely blue 11 times in her first 5 days of life, which has caused her multiple learning disabilities. I also saw a lot of other babies in the NICU with her not make it.
Your comment wasn't even close to funny or amusing, or whatever you had in mind.

Sensitive... did I wish that you had a dead baby? NO!

Jen, are you not able to follow a simple pun? With context provided? Or did you just decide this was a good time and excuse to have a mad? Or are you just trolling?
