I would like to see Robert run as a mad as hell reform candidate. have his signs printed on plain cardboard rather then three colors with a note on the bottom, "no developer dollars paid for this sign"

Camay,
I am still on this forum. I check out the site from time to time. I don't intend to run for the City Council. My experience in 2004 was enough for me. Government is too slow to get things done. I like Eric and I think part of his decision might have been the fact that sales at the auto mall are down 50%. next years budget is going to be very difficult. I think Michael Gordon will win the seat. This will be his third try and he barely lost to Kerri last time.

Too bad the city didn't cut spending 4 years ago when people where suggesting it!

The city really has to watch their spending, including the new JOY train they want to run through town on the old tracks...
I am sure this will rattle some cages of the railroad buffs, but....

Old Soldier, Steve & Camay thanks for the encouragement and kind words.
I had plan to make some calls this week and talk to some people.
Steve, we are similiar in that we both ask questions when its maybe its NOT the best thing politically at that time.
John, sorry but I wouldn't try to change the name on the bridge, nor would I try to stop peoples efforts to change the name. I've offered advice on how to do this, but nobody has started the petition.
I will promise everyone, if I run and get elected anytime anyone wants a copy of an RFP, I will make sure you get it!

Steve, thanks, but no.. I have been on a lot of committees in the past but being on the city council would be to much for me at the present time with what I have going on.
The city council is not the only thing a person has to worry about. There are a lot of additional city and county things you need to get involved in and I just could not do it right now.

A side note...
I think we're losing a lot with Mayor King stepping down. I think he's one of the "good guys" on city council and he's done a great job. I let in to him over the Johnny Cash thing but I still respect him as a person. My hat's off to Eric (and his family for putting up with it); he served this city well. I can only hope whoever replaces him is just as worthy.

Didn't you consider running at one time? What about now?
We could not be doing this without you.
Much love and gratitude.
