"Freaking" was pretty prevalent back when I was in HS in the late 88-92 timeframe but I'm pretty sure nobody was actually having sex on the dancefloor. I'm pretty sure that plenty of kids left the dances and had sex before going home, though. I dunno...I guess it is possible that times have changed to the point where kids would be willing to do it in public with a hundred other people watching.
Um, '92 was 16 years ago. I hate to break it to you, but the freakin' of '92 ain't nothing like the freakin' of today. I doubt anyone was actually having sex on the dance floor back then, but this ain't back then.

Have you ever been to a site called youtube? What about collegehumor.com? The interwebs have totally obliterated any sense of what was considered normal and acceptable vs what wasn't. Including what should be private and what should be on video and posted for the world to see.
To be honest, the openness I see and hear about nudity and sex amongst teens today sounds a lot like the sexual revolution of the 60's & 70's. The cause and triggers are just different.
Those of us that grew-up in the 80's & 90's just missed out.

they also said there were 2 girls bragging in the bathroom that they'd "already had sex twice, how about you?" and the other girl said no, but in a sad kind of way, like she was letting the other girl down by not!
i am sick to my stomach. freak dancing in one thing, this has crossed a line, gone too far. i have not spoken with anyone at the school, i guess i was waiting to see if i heard any more validations.....and yes, i have. i will now probably call someone at the school. maybe see if the administration ever logs on here.
are there any kids on myfolsom that were there, that know this is going on??
i suppose we wait and see how many pregnancies are confirmed in the next few months....

The parents are renting their children party buses in the 9th grade...I saw it and couldn't believe how young the kids were.......
You, the parents and teachers and administrators are responsible for not having chaperones in the bathrooms and the middle of the dance floors.....
Young people do these things because it is glamourized in the media and you let your children go on the computer all day after school and many of you buy cell phones and let your children use them to text......WATCH your damn children.....Otherwise, this generation will be nothing but lazy high expectation brats that think there is only instant gratification....Shows like the new 90210 are disgusting and model inappropriate behavior.....Teen pregnancy and STDs are real..TV isn't.......How many of you parents both work and are guility of giving your kids too much alone time and disposable income??? I bet a lot....

I just wrote an e mail to the principal describing what has been written here about the Homecoming Dance. I am asking her to take a look for herself by coming to our forum and also to respond with her thoughts on this. I'll keep you posted.

Because................as I've said before................... there are a lot of students on the dance floor and they crowd around the center so no one can see in. The chaperons are not dancing in the middle of the dance floor, so what would they see?

It is being reported that MANY students are having sex in the middle of the dance floor!!! The girls are wearing short dresses (the kind with the thick elastic bottom at mid thigh) and nothing underneath. Some of the boys are lying on the floor on their backs, some are standing right there in the middle of the crowd! Others are having sex in the bathrooms, some with multiple partners!!
I can't seem to pick my jaw up off the floor! I also hear that this dance had more alcohol and drugs than others. Are any of you seeing this type of behavior? Is any of this accurate?? Please enlighten an old fogey.....
I saw several gaggles of kids gathering at a few homes before this event and let me tell you all the girls looked like $5 hookers. Dressed as described above, awful makeup, and all the ones I saw were really fat or too overweight for what they were wearing. Maybe that's why they were giving it up so easily? And the boys were no better. Punks with their baseball hats off to a 45 degree angle, baggy jeans, etc. Horrible scene.
I weep for the future.

I've chaperoned 8th grade dances at the middle school. The kids do make a circle and try to shield their attempts at freaking from chaperones. When I saw that, I'd just bust into the circle nonchalantly and pry them apart by sticking my arms out in front of me and weaving myself between. They hated that, but it's not appropriate and they know it.
As a parent, I say no dances, period, unless these kids understand they will NOT engage in lewd conduct. If they do, all bets are off for Homecoming, Prom, all of it.
It's not a flippin' brothel. It's an educational institution. Dances are tradition and a privilege, not a right, a given, or a mandate. These kids need a cold, hard and rude slap in the face.
Drugs are everywhere at that school. Something needs to be done. It's so bad that even the non-stoner kids say it's common knowledge as to who sells and where various "products" can be purchased.
Terrifying.
(sigh)
