Okay, well I went in today to give the place a try. It was about 12:30 this afternoon and I was the only person in the joint, not a problen as far as I am concerned as they are very new. I can be a critical judge of good Italian food as well as my bride Leenda whom is half Italian and was raised in San Francisco. I liked the interior decoration, ambiance and music. I was fortunate to meet the owner Daniel Seifried as well as the Sous Chef Peter Lillington while I was there. My basic idea of Italian food is the sauces of the motherland, in this case marinara or meat sauces.
The lunch prices are Very reasonable and vary from soups, salads, pasta and polenta dishes as well as sandwiches. I had the very basic spaghetti and meat sauce $8.95 with the 2 meatballs for and extra $2.00, I ordered for my bride a to go dish of Eggplant Parmesan with a tuscan salad. I can say that the meal I ate was, well good, but not anything you can't get elsewhere in town or at home for that matter. My brides eggplant Parmesan, however was lackluster in it's marinara sauce, quite bland as stated by her.
Their dinner menu consists of both chicken and veal dishes IE: chicken/veal Parmesan, same with a marsala dish, scaloppini, picata. The pricing is $4.00 more for the veal over the chicken dishes. They also feature steaks, chops and seafood dishes. I would also like to mention that for those of you with little crumb crunchers they have a thoughtful little persons menu available.
As far as my review goes, I will abstain from any service issues that I may have encountered during my brief visit, due to the fact that it had NO bearing on the quality of the food whatsoever. So if I may suggest go out and give them a try, the subject of food is very personal and are of an individual nature. Ones man Hash is anothers man Filet.... Enjoy....
P.S. Wine and Beer only... small bar about 5 or 6 stools. I believe the wines by the glass are on the medium high side... just my opinion
