Did she say, let me check into that for you. Or just the Wow part and left it at that.

I would look to change doctor's if my doctor said "Wow! I have no idea what that might be", and didn't immediately follow up with "Let me check into that and I'll get back to you in a couple of days"

For a doctor to say "I have no idea what is wrong with you, see ya, have a nice day" is absolutely a disaster waiting to happen.

If your ticker is fine, I agree with whoever recommended the neurologist. Hopefully the compressed spine is the more likely cause and not something like a tumor in the brain. As you said it has happened occasionaly for a year or more, I think the brain tumor is not likely, but you never know.

lmaosmiley.gif tumor in the brain! Ok.. you guys have scared me enough.. I have a new dr but since this rarely happens I never think to bring it up. Now that it is happening more often I will bring it up. ... tumor in the brain....

Ditto. We had a doctor at one point who, after hearing about some symptoms, asked rather snidely, "What do you want me to do about it?" I replied, "How about being a doctor?!!!! She eventually apologized, but we dropped her like a hot potato.

I'm not trying to scare you MSgt, but many men suffer from the "I'm tuff, I don't need to see a doctor" (and I know you did go see your doctor), but as we get older, it's wiser in my book to go seek professional help when ever something funny happens with my body. It may cost a little more, but far more people die from not going to the doctor than die from going when maybe they really didn't need to.

My in-laws rarely go to the doctor, and by the time, my FIL went, well, it really had become too late for him. I'm glad my parents are of the mindset, the doctor is your friend, not your enemy. My dad was already at the hospital when he had his heart attack, so he survived and is doing well today (his HA was about 10 or 11 years ago).
I would rather be Backpacking

My wife went in for a food allergy, Pop-Tarts make her fall asleep. The doctor prescribed Prozac.

fastinating. there are so many directions one could go with a post like that.

Msgt, it is almost certainly a nerve pinch thing, not a brain tumor. don't read any more posts. just go to the doctor on Tuesday, check it out, get informed and get a good massage!!

I read once that one day of worry is harder than a week of work, and I know that's true. you'll be okay. just go find out what's going on so you don't worry about it.

Definitely check up on it if it is happening more often. I googled your symptoms and came up with arm artery disease or thoracic outlet syndrome. Hope it turns out to be nothing.

You need to track that down. Glad to her that you have an appointment.
It wasn't right for your dr to just dismiss it like that.

My previous dr kept telling me for a year that everything was ok with all my lab work etc and that there was nothing wrong.
When I took my results to my current dr she couldn't believe it. My blood work was all screwed up and nothing was normal.

If you know something is not right you need to be your best advocate.

I saw the traveling trailer that has a bunch of ultra sound/heart tests.. They can test your neck arteries etc. for almost free...
Also, you need to rule out MS or ALS....You need to go to a new doctor asap. Good luck.

Thanks..
Appt is Thursday with a Dr I have never seen before. I tried to get an appt with a dr I have seen before. The guy on the phone told me that both of them are booked three weeks out. So he says "I'll get you an appt with Dr *****, she is very good looking... I keep telling her she is to pretty to be a Dr." So the Dr was chosen for me based on her looks. I'm fine with that.

+100 Stay married to that one!

I know, you were asking if anyone has experienced your symptoms and weren't looking for a diagnosis via the Net. Hopefully 4thGen is right with the pinched nerve but was spot on to get back in the Dr's office. Get better dude.

Can we write prescriptions now?

Yes, but not for Pop Tarts... I tried them and they didn't work.
