What's that?

Every memeber (except John and Steve) have a little warning meter. Anytime the mods take action we hit the little "warn" button and log it. Each warning is 10% on the meter, so it's really 10 strikes and you're outta here!

Those who are missing the politics section the most are way up there wink.gif

It would be a useful tool to include that in each members "my control" options.

Hey, can you, or will you, PM me and tell me what mine is?

I'm very curious about it, now.

Yes... Super and E...

but you see I can take it... and I don't think I've ever complained about it much when someone jumps on me....

it's the other side that can't take a joke... a jab... or a critizism... it's a thinned skinned liberal bias....Commonly known as the Bush/Rush/Savage/Coulter/Malkin/Hannity/Beck/Ingraham/Cheney/Palin derangement syndrome....

Hey this is a funny thread...

I noticed the only ones that didn't want it's return were the socialist commie libs types that were on the losing end of so many arguments...

and like you Bill... with this climategate coming to the front in the global warming scam and the health care debate that's going to affect all of our lives... you'd think folks would want to be engaged...

Oh well....

I, by no means, am a lib, and I am SO glad that the politics section is gone. As a moderator, it was very tiresome to receive "reported post from" pop-ups every time I come on to MyFolsom. They were all from political posters, including those responding on this thread. Settle your own disputes instead of asking the mods to do it for you... " oh, no, I feel slighted and this is a personal attack! Would you please take your time to read the thread and find the attack on me?" ... political posters, I have neither the time nor the inclination to settle your little petty disputes and (alleged) attacks on each other. You say you want politics back... then grow some sack and stop asking the mods to step in!

Go start your own boards where you can waste your own time in the fruitless attempt to sway each others' opinions. Put YOUR money where your mouth is instead of bitching that your toy was taken away.

I've only complained (well on the report it button) twice about issues.

Once, when a poster was likening Folsom highschool cheerleaders to ---paid objects of...(you get the idea)

and the other when a spammer trying to sell something was PMing me.

All those that don't miss it...good for you, but then again...YOU DON"T NEED TO GO THERE IF YOU DON"T LIKE IT. I hate the "I'm offended so NOBODY gets to participate" mentality.
Do you blow up a radio tower because you don't like country songs on a country station? No, you simply change the channel.
This thinking that everybody should give up what they like because YOU don't like it is part of this generations biggest failings. It's all about me, me, me, me...

Of course, John is the exception since this is his creation.

I think the problem is because it has to be moderated. So all the regular posters who don't like dont have to go there, but the moderators have to go there no matter what. I think its easier on them this way.

True dat. I would ignore it if I could.

I find it funny that all the people missing the politics section have a warning level!

I've been around longer than most on this forum and have NEVER gotten any warning from any moderator.

I don't get warnings, I'm a liberal, and I miss the politics section.

Just the other day I wanted to start a thread on something... see what my pals Robert G. and Bill Z. think about it... and I thought, "Oh, can't. That's politics."

We should have politics but without the abusers who put up 50 posts a day. Otherwise, we're just boring people who all agree we like La Fiesta and hate dog poop.

It's not just the 50 posts a day that was the problem.

It's the "you're-a-cotton-headed-ninny-muggin-because-you-don't-believe-the-way-I-do" attitude that's a problem. It is the blaming everyone else, don't look at me - see what they did, you're a wimp if you can't take it, whine whine whine, complain complain complain, that is the problem.

99.9% of the time it wasn't constructive dialog, debate or even conversation. That was a drain on the site, a drain on the moderators and just not what John wanted (or wants) for his site.

While I used to like the politics section, I hated what it turned into. I'm glad it's gone.

How do I find this "warning level" that you speak of?
