Their last post on facebook said this:
"We should be open for the Masters Tournament this weekend!!!" Wed at 3:00 am

Went by there tonight and saw people and activity in there. Walked up to the door and was told they would be opening tomorrow (Friday). Looks good in there!

In passing, he is also the owner of Early Toast very close by in the shopping center....

Isn't Early Toast also owned by the same owners as Mexquite?

I hope they have better food and service than Early Toast. I know there are lots of fans of Early Toast, but when other friends and I have been there for breakfast the food was probably the worst we've had in Folsom and the service was dismal. (No one came back to ask how things were--otherwise we would have told them.) We don't plan to go back. (Too bad, since we were looking for another weekend breakfast place.)

I love sports bars - would someone please give me a report on the number, location, size of the TVs? Thanks
I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

I think I counted 13 flat screen TVs all 40+" located everywhere in the place. Great set up for watching sports anywhere in the place. Overall I have to say I was impressed, place was crowded when I got there 15 minutes after it opened and was pretty packed when I left at 5.

They have 16 big screen TVs positioned around the place. It is now open and looks great. Mario and Jim did a fantastic job on the remodel and it had a great atmosphere! Krazy Mark (from Taco Loco) is bartending along with Melissa from Folsom Bowl and AJ from Streets. Let's make it a place we can all enjoy and hang out. Keep Folsom going! Outside patio too.

It is my understanding that they parted ways awhile ago.

I have never had bad service or bad food at Early Toast! We are very excited to try Mario's new venture!

We went last night from about 6pm-10pm. It was solid packed! Standing room only. I really enoyed myself. Friendly bartenders, great atsmosphere, and the decor is awesome. The beer/wine was good and reasonably priced. We had guac, boneless buffalo wings (hot!) and a burger. Everything was delicious, fresh and cooked perfectly. I give it an A+ and will defienetly make this a regular haunt. tongue.gif

I had the ribs tonight and they were fantastic. Good margarita too. The place was packed again.

So do they have just pub grub type food? (fried stuff, burgers) Or is there a fairly robust menu?

Actaully, I was surprised by the menu. They had the standard stuff, but also some oddball (for a sports bar) additions like ceviche, paninis and salads.

Gosh, it took me forever to find their site. Nothing came up on Google. Strange. Anyway, finally found their website and menu: http://www.folsomsportsgarage.com/

More robust menu than I remember...

A sample from the Steak - Chicken - Beef page:

St. Louis Style Ribs - Half rack 14. Full rack 20. Slowly smoked over peach wood to perfection, then glazed with our signature Southern Comfort BBQ sauce. Served with French fries and coleslaw.

Cowboy Rib Eye Steak 14 oz. 19. A thick generous portion of aged Angus beef grilled to your liking, served with loaded baked potato or mashed seasonal vegetables.

Prime Rib (Served on Fri, Sat, Sun) 8 oz. 15. 12 oz. 20. 16 oz. 23. Tender and juicy, our Angus prime rib of beef is super slow roasted to capture the full flavors. Hand carved to order and served with our traditional au jus and horseradish. Served with mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies.

Fajitas Chicken 12. Steak 13. Shrimp 14. Your choice of meat sautéed with bell pepper, onions, carrots and served with refried beans, guacamole and sour cream. Corn or flour tortillas.

Pork Carnitas 14. Slowly roasted pork butt served with refried beans, pico de gallo, guacamole and sour cream. Corn or flour tortillas.

Body Building Chicken Plate 13. Grilled marinated chicken breast served on top of sweet mashed potatoes.

I was there both Saturday and Sunday.... 1/2 mile from my abode... I had a beer with Mark my friend from the "other place" and really enjoyed my visit. I will give you my read-out thus far.

1. Ambiance = excellent
2. Accoustics = excellent, with the exception of crying children !!! UUUgHHH
3. Service = sufficient amount of servers on board.
4. I had a couple of beers and they were cold (important to me)
5. Food = I did try a sampling of ribs and the California Coastal Quesadilla....

I will abstain from any mention of the foods I sampled from a review perspective due to the simple fact that this was their first day of public offerings and realize that there are many issues to be worked out and resolved.. In closing, I believe they will do well, but they will have to quantify the quality of their offerings to their pricing.....

I agree - what IS IT with people bringing kids to a bar? Even a sports bar? When I was there there were at least 10 tables with kids. I guess it's a family environment because of the sports theme?
Interesting comment about the portion/pricing...I had the exact opposite thought. I thought it was very reasonable pricing and the portions were excellent. I guess I'm just jaded from all the places around here that start at $15 entrees! LOL! tongue.gif
