I was wrong...they were just closed for one day due to road construction.

CasaRamos I thought was over-rated.
I still would prefer dozens of other restaurants there:
- Buffalo Wild Wings (coming to where Black Angus used to be, thank goodness!!!!)
- TGI Fridays
- Sonic (just knock down the building, although one may be coming to Home Depot parking lot)
- Tex Wasabi or Jonny Garlics (can never have too many)
- Claim Jumpers (can never have too many)
- Something other than mexican (Folsom has WAYYYYY too many)
Buuuttt....
I'm glad the building won't be an eyesore anymore

Yes, Chevy's is still there.
And the Casa Ramos in GR is being converted to Rubios.

...Have you seen the color they painted it ? UGH --
Another great day in the adventure of exploration and sight.

Yum sounds good.
So did they have chips and salsa served while you waited for your food?

Does anyone know if the over-saturation of failed businesses, in general, hurt the local economy rather than just having fewer stronger businesses? Do you think if we limit the amount of certain businesses, we wouldn't have so many empty buildings/lots taking up space? Are we losing revenue that way? Just a thought.

Are there any Mexican places that don't do this? (I guess you have to self serve at some taquerias...)

The market will determine if there is too much of a particular restaurant or business. And while quality\value\service normally dictate success vs. failure, there are exceptions to that rule, Hacienda.
Personally I am all for any business opening up and providing jobs
