Casa Ramos will do well there. Or at least better than AppleBee's .

Well, one of our employees told us that Qbole closed.

I was wrong...they were just closed for one day due to road construction.

Good riddance to QBole. Maybe if enough of us say that they will go away?

CasaRamos I thought was over-rated.

I still would prefer dozens of other restaurants there:
- Buffalo Wild Wings (coming to where Black Angus used to be, thank goodness!!!!)
- TGI Fridays
- Sonic (just knock down the building, although one may be coming to Home Depot parking lot)
- Tex Wasabi or Jonny Garlics (can never have too many)
- Claim Jumpers (can never have too many)
- Something other than mexican (Folsom has WAYYYYY too many)

Buuuttt....

I'm glad the building won't be an eyesore anymore smile.gif

I drove by today and noticed the outside of the building has been re-painted. Anyone heard when they will open?

Yes, Chevy's is still there.

And the Casa Ramos in GR is being converted to Rubios.

I have never noticed that there are a lot of Mexican places in Folsom 'cuz I only have eyes (and an appetite) for Felipe's. Once Casa Ramos opens, I may give 'em a shot but we are very happy with Felipe's. It's our favorite restaurant in Folsom, period.

Well gang, I just had lunch at the Casa Ramos and in my first observation found it to be good, maybe very good food. They have been open since a soft opening on Monday so this was their 2nd. day business. While there were plenty of people coming in I did not notice any major violations on the quality of service... a very good trait if you ask me. And there did not seem to be any clumsy behavior as far as the limited time the staff has had to work together. From the lunch menu I ordered the fajitas platter with a combo of pork and beef. My meal was served still sizzling and both of the meats were fantastic... served with plenty of grilled peppers and onions, rice and some very tasty refried beans.. married with a seperate plate of guacamole, sour cream, cheese and pico de gallo and four very hot tortillas. BUT ? is it authentic? I don't know.... so you'd better check it out for yourselves.... hehe. Because I know in my mind I will be going back In passing my meal cost $8.59 + $2.75 for a draft beer, a darn good deal for the quality and quantity of food.... see ya' there....

Yum sounds good.

So did they have chips and salsa served while you waited for your food?

OMG...another Mexican restaurant......there's about 40 too many IMO. Too many restaurants and fast food in fact which I feel contributes to why so many fail. What are we at a 1:1 ratio now of people to restaurants? Being facetious, but would like to see the number of restaurants scaled back.

Does anyone know if the over-saturation of failed businesses, in general, hurt the local economy rather than just having fewer stronger businesses? Do you think if we limit the amount of certain businesses, we wouldn't have so many empty buildings/lots taking up space? Are we losing revenue that way? Just a thought.

Are there any Mexican places that don't do this? (I guess you have to self serve at some taquerias...)

The market will determine if there is too much of a particular restaurant or business. And while quality\value\service normally dictate success vs. failure, there are exceptions to that rule, Hacienda.

Personally I am all for any business opening up and providing jobs
