Alright for anyone wondering what all the fuss is all about with Sierra Smokehouse BBQ, you really have to go and try it for yourself. I overheard another myfolsom.com-ite on their way out and the owner Ed has said business has been pretty busy since Carnivore mentioned them here.

The super tender meats and sauces are the best I have eaten in quite some time. Very friendly service, great food and the best value for BBQ anywhere and you won't go home hungry. We have to go back and try the smoked meatloaf and the special jalapeno jelly sauce. This is my choice for BBQ and rates a "I'll definitely be back" award.

FYI they will be closed Mon March 8 through Thur March 11th.

My MIL who lives in CP went there and liked it, and she doesn't usually like BBQ. A hearty recommendation if I ever heard one!

Thought about going there last night, but they close at 8.

Regular hours close at 7.

Obviously not one for the dinner crowd.

True. I sounds like the plan is lunch crowd, early dinner\take-out and catering but with the increase from myfolsomites, who knows maybe the business model could be successful in a larger place. Course we all know restaurant leases are outrageous in these times.

Hello MyFolsom.com-ites. I'm Ed Anhorn, owner of Sierra Smokehouse BBQ & Custom Catering.

Let me first thank Deanna, Carnivore, Mylo, Sandman, eVader, Sunshine Services and 4thgenFolsomite for your wonderful comments about the food that we're serving out of Sierra Smokehouse. Word of mouth recommendations are so valuable to a small business like mine and you all have made me blush!! THANK YOU ALL!!!

Next, I want to let everyone know that we are closed this week through Thursday as my Competition BBQ Teammate, John, and I are attending a catering conference that is giving us some great ideas for additions to the catering menu. I apologize for any inconvenience our temporary closure may cause you. We will reopen on Friday, March 12th at 11:30am. Our special on Friday is our smoked tri-tip and since we're closed on Thursday I'm also going to offer my smoked meatloaf. I hope you'll come by and give us a try.

Finally, we are adding staff at the end of this week to help handle the extra business we've been getting as a result of this thread and the continued growth from new customers from Cameron Park, El Dorado Hills, Shingle Springs and Placerville. The additional staff will also help free up time for John, Heidi (my wife) and I to work on new dishes for the restaurant.

Thanks again and we hope to see you soon!
Ed

Hello Ed, thanks for posting on the forum ! As I mentioned to you in one of our discussions, people want to hear from the owners of small businesses. Only time and discovery about your wonderful Authentic BBQ restaurant will you be able to share your compassion and love for your product and services.. Good fortune in Las Vegas during your discovery program.. I guess I can go a week without my BBQ fix !!! hehe
