This is about the only way to do this but you have to limit the field of candidates.

History shows 3 incumbents with only 1 new candidate to still be very difficult.

Here are the 2006 with same 3 incumbents:

Well if Kerri Howell runs again, and I think she is going to, She will again get both my wife's and my votes. She seems to be the only voice of reason on the city council. She responds to your phone calls and emails and she even shows up here on line which most of the others will not do.

I won't vote for Morin or Miklos...

They are good guys as it goes... but we need some new blood...

Starsky has been there since 2000... I forgot when Andy got on there... I think 2 years later... Kerry and Miklos since like 1996... the only new guy is Ernie and he was given a key to City Hall because he was there all the time... and finally got elected...

It's all inside baseball there now... I think they have all been Mayor except for Kerry... cause well... she rubs them the wrong way...

It would be nice to get some fresh faces... but nothing will be done... and to put iit in aviation terms... we're flying "fat dumb and happy"... just before the crash...

what are the issues facing the voters...?

aren't we getting rising utility rates...?

What is the impact of police and fire pensions on our city...? remember we had to give them monster raises to keep pace with the surrounding jurisdictions which is a joke...

What about the impact of the south of 50 development... are we paying for all the studies etc from public funds instead of the developers...?

What about the schools... why can't we have a government that is streamlined and have the schools run by the city...? couldn't we save some $$ there... and please don't tell me that schools do it better...

I met Mike Kozlowski (who is running) at the Thursday night market. I will keep an eye on him as his campaign moves forward. He was for long term fiscal solvency, didn't seem thrilled with the new hotel approval, thought the SAc city councils actions regarding AZ were ridiculous, and had ideas for S of 50 development. He is an achitect by trade, and I spoke with him at length about "smart development" and the way the council should deal with developers.
He seemed pretty receptive.

Camay - Thank you very much!

EDF - Steve Miklos was elected in 1994, I was elected in 1998, and Andy was elected in 2002.

I almost forgot - there was a committee that was convened about 9 or 10 years ago, if I remember correctly. The committee was tasked with review of the City Charter, and it was formed because I requested it. We discussed many, many items. One of those was whether we should change the Charter to include term limits. At that time, most of the members of the committee (and there were about 15 people on the committee) did not think term limits were a good idea. A number of suggested changes to the Charter were then forwarded to the City Council and the Council voted not to incorporate any of the suggested changes. There were about 10 changes that the committee wanted to make, and for those changes that I supported, I lost on either 4 to 1 or 3 to 2 votes. At that time, the Council members were me, Cyndi Dow, Erik King, Jeff Starsky and Steve Miklos.

I would vote for Kerri again without a question.
I would like to hear more about Mike K
If Michael Gordon is in the running again - I would certainly NOT vote for him

Wonder if any others will join the race

I promise to vote for Kerri.

I promise to not vote for the other two incumbents.

I will likely vote for other non-incumbants.

I believe if 3 slots are open, we get to vote for 3 candidates, so I can vote for Kerri and 2 others.

Chad, if you run, I'll vote for ya, but I wholly understand if you decide to not run at this time.

I know I might run for city council in 10 years or so, after my son is out of High School and hopefully I am retired.
I would rather be Backpacking

IMO, We need to make Changes! I'm going to stick with issues and avoid personalities in making my choices.

How can anyone support City Council members who approved sellling that surplus land for $7 million when it was worth $21 million?

How can anyone support City Council members who approved the enhanced pension benefits, without asking what it would cost. This is contributing to our current fiscal challeneges and reducing our services?

How can anyone support any person for the city council who approved giving the Bridge Consultant Position to the former City Manager despite her NOT having any experience and ALREADY having some on the payroll?

How can anyone support City Council members who agreed to that PATHETIC deal with Aerojet giving away our for eternity, our water rights to the American river water?

How can anyone support a City Council member who KNEW we as a city we are having revenue shortfalls, yet gave the Chamber FREE rent for the buildings owned by the City?

How can anyone support someone for the city council who MISREPRESENTED the threat of other Agencies developing S50?

I want the RIGHT to vote on the developments plans for S50 and will support the council Candidate who will give me that right!

What I truly don't understand with some on here is why in the world do you keep supporting ANYONE who has voted for the things I listed above and put us in the position that we are in?

How in the world are we EVER going to make changes if We continue to support the very people who put us in this position? If anyone could explain this Phenomen to me I would be extremely appreciative?

Until we as a citizens DEMAND accountability based upon results, We are going to collectively suffer!

Andy Morin [ don't know, can't comment ]
Kerri Howell [ should be re-elected ]
Steve Miklos [ should be run out of Folsom faster than the BP CEO out of a south east coastal town ]

I think Andy sits on the fence too much. I like him a lot and I think deep down he knows the "right thing to do" but worries about the politics of his decisions too much. I likely won't vote for him because he doesn't stick his neck out enough. The hotel thing did it for me.

Kerri I will always vote for because she doesn't give a rip what others think - plus she tends to make decisions with Folsom's best interest in heart.

Steve Miklos is a good guy and has served Folsom well for many years, however I think it's time for new blood.

I think this can still be fought since it's not been fully ratified.
