Went to Balcony today for breakfast cuz SSG was a 35 minute wait. The food was great but the service was abysmal, especially given how few people were there. I'll chalk it up to being in a new location but it turned out we could have waited for SSG and still had time to spare.

I love the omelettes at Lake Forest Cafe. and I love that it comes with whole wheat toast and a ton of fresh fruit and that the honey is in little pots from Clouds.

thread officially re-routed (sorry!)

We haven't been to Lake Forest Cafe for over a year. We have been there a few times and really liked it. Will have to go back again soon.

We went last week. As expected, the food was fine, but the service was dreadful. The poor busboy was running around like a chicken with his head cut off. They just can't deal with the larger space yet (although I thought they were just as bad at the old smaller space).

Sure I'll go back once in a while, but not more than twice a year I imagine.

I have never been to Balcony Bistro, but friends of mine who have had the same bad experiences. Word of mouth advertising works in the opposite direction too, as I have never gone there.

Solve all your problems. Go to Karen's Bakery. Far and away the best place for anything breakfast in Folsom.

Food is awesome. Service always good, staff always polite.

Went the other day after staying away for a long time. Our server, Sean, was fabulous but man did the food both suck and blow.

That sounds good and horribly BAD.

Great location, good or great rep should equal great success. Bummer.

I cannot comprehed why it seems impossible to get a really good restaurant that serves consistently good food (like the old Christof's) in this beautiful location. In the entire time I've been familiar with this location from Tosh's to Sudwerks it's remained a consistent dissapointment foodwise.... what gives?????

Balcony Bistro is where My Brother Vinny's was on Sutter Street - not the old Cliff House/Tosh/Sudwerks or Christophe's in the Folsom-Auburn center near Coffee Republic.

I have not seen anyone mention it, but Balcony Bistro shut their doors four months ago.

There's going to be a really great local business moving into Balcony Bistro's location pretty soon.

Can you say whom? I certainly hope they take down the Bud Light banner stretching across the front of the building......
