what kind of price are we talking about for these types of bikes? 100's? 1000's?

Mine retailed for 2k. I did not pay that though. I bought it as a past year model so I was able to get a pretty good deal. It is super smooth and until you ride a real nice bike you don't know what you are missing. With that said my bike with the same components would cost closer to 3k today.

Mine had links right to Specialized's site for each bike.

Like Chris, mine would have been around 1600, but I bought a previous year model, and it was also on sale. Mine is not full carbon, only the Seat Stays, Seat Post, and Fork are Carbon.

My wife's bike is nicer, and full carbon w/Ultegra Group Set, hers was just over 3k.

MSRP $1040, I got 12% off that at Folsom Bike and Grind. It is a hybred or dual sport. They had a couple different models that would have worked fine for me but I was told to buy the best bike you could afford. My budget was under $1000 so I bought it. I am not that fond of the white color but I love the bike.
When I got it my goal was to ride around the Folsom Bike paths and get healthy, maybe ride 30 to 40 miles some day.
