What about grouping the copper, electrical, and water drip line? Is it legal to have say a 4" pvc pipe underground which will house 3 types of runs, a conduit for the electrical wiring in it, copper lines by itself, and a 5/8" water drip line by itself, all together in the 4" pvc pipe?

My situation here calls for me to run the electrical and copper from the wall out and down into a flower bed, under a 5' stretch of patio slab and to the ODU sitting on yet another flowerbed. There also is a drip line from one flower bed to the other as is.

Both the old and new locations are adjacent to closet walls so ripping drywall may be the way to go so I can re-use the runs which will be shorter because the ODU will be much closer to the unit in the attic after the move.

I keep calling Buetler but I guess they're too busy to return a call.

I'd wonder about the copper lines and the 220v lines. Arcing might be a possibility. Have you found anyone yet to move the stuff? If not, PM me.

...$300 to have Buetler do the copper and electrical...

Buetler says there's no way they would do just the connections due to liability. And, if they did, it was probably a tech working under the table... care to share in a PM?

It seems it's one major project in my case. Due to the age of the units, it's apparently more feasible for me to wait till it's time to R&R the whole thing and include the move then. Provided I'm willing to cash-out my bank account to fund it...LOL

Jeff, I need a hand with an auger to get under a 5' stretch of patio slab, you interested?

We've been looking at houses all summer and have been amazed at the number of bonehead home builders who place the A/C units in the worst possible location. In many cases they are placed right next to the rear entry door or up against the master bedroom wall so you hear it run all night. One of my biggest pet peeves with home builders...

Mine is right outside the Master BR window and it doesn't bother me in the least.
I run a HEPA filter in my BR all night long, makes for an excellent white noise generator, drowns out the A/C, neighbors dogs, etc.
I would rather be Backpacking

HI-We moved ours a few years ago. We are in an elliott home, didnt get a permit, we just hired an A/C person, I think we paid about 700.00. The new location didnt affect our neighbor, but we are on a hill, not flatland, so the noise doesnt disturb them. They are good friends of ours, so the move was never an issue. . .We are glad we moved it, gave us so much more room in the backyard, plus, it was right under our kitchen window!
