I enjoyed it until the most recent episode.  Now they're bringing people back from the dead without brain damage.  I guess noone on the island will die as long as Jack is around.

As Hollywood often does, they're going to take a good show and start turning it into junk.

OK, well I have news for you... 40 people would not survive a plummet 10,000 feet in the air, paralyzed people don't all of a sudden start walking again after plane crashes, and polar bears sure as heck don't live on islands in the middle of nowhere! You have to throw logic and reason out the window on this show, just enjoy the ride... smile.gif

You're right that most plane crashes don't have survivors, but there have been many plane crashes with survivors.

As for the paralysis, one can suspend disbelief because we don't know the original reason for the paralysis, part of it can be psychological.

Polar bears don't live on islands, but again, we can suspend disbelief because we don't know much about this mysterious island, and while we may think it's a polar bear, it can simply be a new type of bear that they discovered on this remote island.

But people that have been hanging around for who knows how long? Hmm, we can assume that they just missed him, but if that's the case they could have written a scene like that into the script. He'd still get away, as Jack would opt to save a life.

Or they could have brought him back with some brain damage, slurred speech, etc. something. Now it'll be more like watching Alias or Smallville.

All are good points, not much is known about the island, especially with the polar bear, etc... I think that's the point - it's a fantastic imagination in part of the writers. I honestly get more entrenched in this show every week. It's very well done though.

Jack was only unconscious for about 4 minutes after Locke attacked him... then he ran as fast as he could up the hill. So Ethan (or whoever, I forget his name) sould not have been hanging long, 5 minutes max. I think that's the threshold for brain damage to start kicking in, but I'm no medical expert.

Who's story do we hear next? I think it will be Hurley (the fat guy), or the princess and her brother. Could be the brother, as he's with the bald guy at the cliffhanger.

Ethan is the one suspected of being the outsider(not on the manifest) and the attacker of Jack. Locke is the bald guy.

Charlie, the hangee, said he didn't remember or see anything. No brain damage but they at least put some thread into his hanging.

I think it will be the princess and her brother too.

How many episodes are there? So far I have only seen one, but the way everyone seems to be talking about this show it might be worth the look.

I'm more into the CSI - Cold Case shows but hey if this is as good as advertised, I'm willing to check it out.

During "the census," when the tubby guy ran into Ethan in the woods, he asked if he was Lance. Then, he said "naw, you're right. Lance is a skinny, red-haired guy." I can't recall ever seeing one of those.

I hadn't seen any episodes of "lost" but this thread peaked my interest so I watched the rerun of the first episode on Wednesday. I'm sorry to say it was very entertaining and now I may have to start watching it. Actually I think I'll record it to watch later - I've never seen a program with as many commercials! One thing that got my attention was when Jack and the others returned from finding the cockpit they were asked if there were any survivors and they said - No. Yet when the polar bear was killed, the princess's brother said - maybe that's what killed the captain. How'd he know the captain survived the crash?

After reaading all your posts it appears lots of interesting/strange things will happen in the next few episodes. How many episodes have there been (ballpark)?

there have been around a dozen episodes or so, it keeps getting better, too!

To answer your question about the pilot, I think they said no survivors, b/c they didn't want everyone to freak out about the monster. However I think someone slipped and told someone about the pilot, and rumors spread. I think that's how it happened.
