I've never been there, but I have looked at their website and the place screams "ROMANTIC".all really good choices. I'd highly reccommend Sequoia Restarant in Placerville. Have been there half a dozen times and have enjoyed each visit immenseley. The restaurant is housed in a Victorian style house (think big old mansion) with various rooms to dine in. Ask to have dessert in one of the upstairs parlor rooms (if availabel)

I know they host weddings there, I would say, not only is it a nice place to spend Valentines day with a girl, it would also be an awesome place to "pop the question". I'm not saying Ricky is ready for that, but when he is, it would be a great place to do it.

The next thing I have to do is find a good place to order a dozen roses, (i like buying local)
and get her a gift, while I apprecate the vote of confidence Bill Z we have only been dating
since november and we didn't become offical until two weeks ago. So the big question is out
of the question for a while. But when the time comes I'll consider doing it up the hill
So as for gift ideas, I figure you can never go wrong with jewelry as long as it's not
over the top.
So for the gift, I could use some advice too. Chocolates will be bought at snooks but I want
to get her something to let her know how special she is to me but I'm not rich either. What
do you all think of these?

If she's as nice as you are treating her, she'll "love" those earrings whether she loves them or not.

Definately very romantic. Takes about the same amount of time to go over to Roseville galleria , so guys (or gals) treat yourselves to a fabulous short getaway to Placerville's famous Sequoia restaurant and enjoy a gorgeous setting, great food and definately sets the tone for romance. Takin it slow was definately not in my vocabulary when I met my future wife. We met and were engaged within 6 weeks and married 6 months to the day we met. Been married 22+ years and love her with all my heart. When you know you know. !!!
Hmm might be a fun topic, for Valentine's Day: how did you get engaged or meet your spouse?

Very pretty. But I'm going to suggest that you also look at the Consignment shop by Lowes on E. Bidwell. I've seen some really pretty jewelry there for under $200. Precious Gems on Sutter street also has a 'vintage' (aka used) jewelery section that can be affordable.
