Considering the size of the roll I got, if they charged full price I would've been pissed. Their menu says "limited time only" but I doubt that.

My son used to go the Blue Nami in Roseville and said they always listed 50% off.

Thanks for all the warnings, based on all the bad reviews I don't ever plan on going there and wasting any money on bad food.

Does anyone remember the days when most maki sushi (rolls) had the seaweed on the outside, and you usually got futomaki, tekkamaki or kappamaki? I remember when California roll and Oregon rolls started showing up.

Now it seems that each roll either has a deep fried shrimp, spicy tuna or fake crab with mayo in the center, then some kind of fish on the outside, with a couple of gloppy sauces on it. They all pretty much taste the same now.

Yeah, I used to like sushi because it was low fat and reasonably healthy. Now most of it is deep fried and gloppy. That stuff just doesn't do it for me. Yuk!

Stopped by there tonight at a friend's urging after seeing a movie. Not to eat, but to use the Japanese toilet! I had only picked up food to go the other night. What a riot - I had forgotten what an experience using a Japanese toilet is!

You can always order a kappa maki, tekka maki, futomaki, etc. You don't need to have all the sauces and stuff. I like temmaki better for some things though.

What's the difference? Is it warm, and does it spray mist?

Yes, warm. Multiple spray mist and warm air dry!

I wonder if Japanese people stay in restroom longer than the average person.

The Japanese toilets are nice. Don't know why they haven't caught on much in the states. I'm the cold nights of winter, the seat stays warm. Control the temp of the water that cleans ya, less TP use.

My grandparents have had one since the 90s, my aunt abs uncle since 2002

Wow...I love Blue Nami. Their service sucks at their other two locations and so we usually order the food and take it home. Maybe they will get the point...especially with all the bad reviews.

It's not just the service, but the food was crap too. I will drive to Granite Bay (Akebono), Downtown Sacramento (Shoki), South Sac on Freeport Blvd. (Akebono), or to Roseville/Antelope (my friend it about to open a restaurant, to be named) to get good quality sushi/Japanese food than go to Blue Nami. Heck, even on Madison and Dewey there's a good hole in the wall called Yui Marlu. I'm sorry, but Folsom sushi sucks.

I have to revise my list of recommendations. The Akebono in Granite Bay has gone down in quality and selection in fish. The old owner (the one who owns Akebono on Freeport and is unaffiliated with GB other than name) is the better of the two.

Also on Sunrise and Kirby, my friend has opened up his own place called Kenro's Taste of Japan. He is planning on changing the menu pretty soon to reflect what he wants and his recipes instead of keeping the menu of the previous owners.

Yikes! That is bad. I was really hoping to hear great things. Hopefully they are paying attention to these bad reviews and will attempt to improve.
