I like hole-in-the-wall places, but there's already Urban Dog & Sausage just down from this location.

I was really hoping for something that wasn't a chain, but better to have something there than empty.

I know, the discussion reminded me of it. I wasn't really suggesting Taylor Bros, just reiminiscing.

I don't think this is a chain. The sign in the window looks to be handmade, with white paper & markers, not chain-like at all. I wonder if it is the same owners that previously had a business by the same name in Orangevale

It sounds kinda good, cinnamon & a bakery.

BJ Cinnamon opened today!! We stopped by this afternoon to check it out and the owners were very nice. We couldn't decide which type of cinnamon roll to get (traditional, raisin, or apple) so we got one of each. They made a great afternoon snack -yummy! They also have donuts, rolls and muffins. I'm not a coffee drinker so I didn't check that out.

The other thing I noticed was that they seemed to have ample tables/seating. I really dislike going into a donut shop and not being able to sit and eat it there.

Did you happen to notice the hours? I can't find a website, only the yellow pages basic info.

I want to go check it out this weekend, as I love good, moist cinnamon rolls. :letseat:

Sorry, I didn't think to look. I'd guess early to get those on the way to work -- helpful, I know, right?! When we saw the big "NOW OPEN" sign, we were so excited, that's all we really noticed.

Urban Dog has gone to the dogs... They closed their doors about a month ago

I know. I wrote that post four months ago before they closed.

I wish this new place the best of luck. It's nice to have one less empty building.

Good to hear about the seats, hope the coffee's good.

I like the cinnamon rolls -- I love cinnamon. I prefer them w/out icing which is why I don't like Cinnabon as much as I could. The rolls at Panera also look good -- will have to try someday but they seem pricey.

I like how this place will sometimes throw in a courtesy doughnut if you buy enough. It's nice, friendly touch.

I really loved Cinnabon, icing and all! I was very disappointed when their shop closed.
One has to go to Orangevale to get Dairy Queen. And to Citrus Heights now to browse books and get a coffee. That is shameful for Folsom.

Now that Borders has closed, there’s no place to hook up with a friend without going to a bar.
Every town should have a place to get a quick coffee or sandwich with a friend, when there’s not enough time for a dinner or full lunch. And the books were an added bonus with Borders.
Doesn’t seem we have a shortage of bars though!

There seems to be a troubling trend of businesses coming and going in a matter of a year, here in Folsom. I am finding we are having to go out of Folsom, more and more, to shop and dine.

Folsom just hasn’t grown and developed well in a business sense, like say, Roseville. It’s very disappointing. Especially when gas prices are so high. I feel stuck in Folsom, with too few choices.

Maxine - I agree with some of what you say, but I think the coffee shops in this town vastly outnumber the bars.

There are many many location in Folsom where you can sit and have coffee and a snack or light meal- Obviously Starbucks, Peets , many other coffee shops, Raleys and whole foods both have nice places to sit inside and out just to mention a few ...

Another great  day in the adventure of exploration and sight.

Just today I saw a couple of women sitting on the patio furniture at OSH, chit chattting away like old friends. It's an odd place to hang out, but I guess there's nothing wrong with that!
