it looks to me like a stucco representation of an Aztec temple. goofy. I can't believe the city allowed this either. what happens when that Jimboys goes belly up? miniature golf maybe?
What makes you think they would go belly up? They have been expanding all over the valley lately. Plus, it is our only local fast food chain. We should be supporting them over the national chains!

I like the architecture. It beats the stucco strip mall look that is in every town. I want to see the inside now too.

6. TACO, ENCHILADA*
Items marked with * come with ground beef.
Per menu
Sounds positively *exciting*
LOL I didn't say I get excited (and I don't get the ground beef)....still, hot salsa, rice and beans are the best for those mornings after an "enthusiastic" celebration of the night before.
The only thing I miss about SoCal is the outstanding/"authentic" Mexican food...

I meet up with another local Pool Guy in town every once and awhile for lunch and we ate there for lunch a couple of weeks ago and discussed the new look. He seemed to think the owners might have been upset that there is another Mexican place that went up next door that sells the same type of food. That said the owner might have wanted to set their restaurant apart from the neighboring restaurant? I don't know but it makes sense when you think about it.
but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming
"Wow! What a Ride!"

I like Jimboy's, it's not a place I can beat up all the time. You know like a once every couple of months?? Anyway I like the new look, I admit I was worried at first but the final product is stunning to say the least. The old setup still had that "Burger King" 1980's stale corporate look to it (Can't remember if it was a BK or not?)

You are right that it used to be a Burger King.
Even though in the drawing it looks like it will be painted beige - just like Turd Ferguson said - it's a huge improvement from the old building. Hope they actually add the plantings like in the drawing. Maybe they can even talk the center into improving the landscaping strip in front.

No, the El Danbertos (or whatever it's called) used to the the BK, you can tell by the cool curved sunroom type windows.
Can't recall what Jimboys used to be, maybe an Arby's a long time ago?

You're goofy:) Adanberto's was the Arby's with the sunroom. Look at the one at the corner of Fair Oaks & Madison, same look.
Jimboys' was the Burger King.
