Would it be better if, rather than banning certain foods, the government better regulated the industry and process? No force-feeding for foie gras and no crating or chaining for veal, etc. and the animal would have to be killed with respect and compassion (I know, sounds like an oxymoron). The food would still end up on someone’s dinner table, but the animal would have a better life and perhaps a more humane (however still premature) death.
