Whether you like or hate Best Buy or BB in Folsom, I suggest John or a Mod should modify this thread's title or subject line to Rumor: or Is the Folsom Best Buy affected by closure or something until there is a verifiable fact. There may be MyFolsomite who work there or know people who do.
I'll second that.

I did edit the title. Thanks.
How many celebrities died on Twitter feeds this week?
BTW, everyone knows that John made his money in the great bank robbery in Ireland
(http://en.wikipedia....rn_Bank_robbery) right?

At home, Amazon is cheaper. Next door, Sam's club is cheaper. I buy electronics and those kinds of goods ALL the time and I rarely spend my money at Best Buy---it's just not the smart choice for your dollar. Their selection of everything has shrunk, too. And as cliche as it sounds, "in this economy", you won't survive being the highest priced business when there are cheaper options.
And the problem is mostly in their accessories, as that's the biggest mark up for them. If they can't move a lot of extras, they don't make $ -- and their accessory prices are darn near laughable. Everyone I know knows not to buy your sundry items there.
Borders crumbled from the same thing. And retail is always evolving. If a company doesn't adjust, they're left behind...and are forced to close their stores. Best Buy won't be in Folsom in 2014, that's for sure.

I just could not find anything that I needed. When I get gift cards for
Amazon I can always find something to purchase, that I need.

Our Best Buy just isn't closing yet. It will absolutely be closed within 18 months. Only my opinion, of course, but its really just the economics. It can't stay in business under the current model.

It's ironic that their name does not live up to the experience inside the store.

I had a gift card for Best Buy and when I walked in to try and spend it

I'd swap that BB card for an Apple gift card in the store. If you have any use for Apple products or apps, this is a great way to burn up the BB card.
