The bank was robbed at noon on Friday. Wonder why it took so long to get the word and photo out?

You have a point there- If they have not caught him - he could be long gone by now.

Another great  day in the adventure of exploration and sight.

The prison escapee and bank robber are two unrelated crimes...

as for prison escapes, the PIO (public information officer), from what I understand, is a M-F 8-5 job. So, if somebody escapes on Friday night, theoretically, we may not hear about it until Monday because that's when they can send out a press release. I'm not saying this is always the case, but I understand there is a great deal of bureacracy in the prison ranks...

as for the bank robbery, I have gotten the impression press releases calling for the public's help is usually when they are stumped and have no leads... otherwise they work it internally. I'm sure there are a lot of crimes in Folsom that take a few days to solve, it's just a matter of finding out where the suspect is hiding out. This is just my opinion, of course! :)

He probably had to wait for Light rail to reopen to make his escape.

With the Bullet train coming soon he could have been back home in less than 3 hours!

Hmmm...described as 5'7", but the photo shows a guy 5'11". Poor info, or wrong guy in photo?

He's back in custody. Didn't get very far. Shadowfax Lane and Green Valley is where he was picked up.

So he was found in the area he was last seen close to 24 hours later....why did it take so long for them to find him? I heard the search was cut off 2 hours after it started last night. I'm glad they finally got him but it's scary that he was out there so long.

Glad that we got notification that he was found, but would have much preferred hearing something when he escaped. Morons.

So glad to hear he is back in custody. It is strange that he was found by homeowners (not law enforcement) basically in the same area he was first reported the night before. I hope the residents who found him aren't too shook up-I'd think that would've been very frightening! Their dogs should get an extra huge bone as a treat!!!!

I wonder how the cops missed him both Sunday night and yesterday? Sunday night they were out for 2 hours and couldn't find him. Yesterday morning there did seem to be a large gathering of law enforcement types near Raley's. So, I'm guessing they were out doing something more, but whatever it was, it still didn't lead to his immediate capture.

I also wonder what they heck he was thinking hanging out so close? If he wanted out of prison bad enough to escape, why the heck would he stick around town? Doesn't sound like he had much of a plan. Perhaps he didn't "plan" on escaping, but rather saw an opportunity and just went for it and thought he'd figure it out along the way.

It's certainly an interesting story and I'm really glad he didn't physically hurt anyone while he was out in our neighborhoods.

one theory might be he hid in the night and blended into a landscape crew during the day thinking about what he was going to do and then they left and he was on his own again. I think the prison and police public relations crew should distinguish between an escape from the prison versus the prison camp, where folks can pretty much walk away rather than at the old prison do a movie type escape...would get folks less shook up, but again getting folks shook up makes for better news.

I'm a little stumped, too, on why the K9 units didn't find him and more than a little surprised that he hung around the area so long.

Maybe it was lack of light rail stations on that side of town :P

The prisoners work group was cleaning the road up next to sutter middle/bus parking lot a few days ago. Not sure which day. But why would a convicted felon who was arrested and doing time for assault with a weapon, be on a work crew?

So...maybe not related.

If they noticed him missing at 9pm its unlikely that he walked away from an outside work crew. Its my understanding that most of the inmates at the minimum security facility have jobs inside the two secure prisons at that site.
