I wonder how much concentration it takes to block out everything around you, in order to truly benefit the exercise regime you put your body through?

Maybe she is attracted to women?

I think a video of it would really help to better determine the true cause of the noise ;)

I was going to make a sound recording tonight, just for you, but she wasn't there. :lmaosmiley:

Could be. Makes no difference to me either way.

Ok - I checked and there are three possibilities...

1. She is doing to attract the guys - I have heard guys do this to attract the gals...

2. She is moaning and grunting to keep the core solid to allow for extra push or exertion...

3. She just moans when she gets exited at seeing the guys working out...and is really having an orgasm ...

So there you have it ...
Cheers

Those are some really creative possibilities.

#1 As Robert said, she could be trying to attract someone...guy or girl.

#2 I have to rule this # out. While this type of moaning may initially cause muscle tension, it actually relaxes & pushes out the core, it does not tighten it. Just visualize in your mind & do a practice moan for about 2 minutes (cuz remember, she's doing this pretty much solid for 20-30 sec stretches for 30 minutes or more). The core relaxes. Tightening the core takes concentrated effort unless one is a Pilates instructor and well versed in the technique. I can pretty much guarantee this is not the case.

#3 is interesting. I vaguely recall a recently reported study saying that women experience orgasm while exercising. I blew it off at the time, but maybe there is some truth to it!

hmmm.....self-reported, not very reliable or scientific

For the study, surveys were administered online to 124 women between the ages of 18 to 63 who reported having exercise-induced orgasms (EIO) and 246 women who said they had exercise-induced sexual pleasure (EISP)." The most common exercises associated with exercise-induced orgasm were abdominal exercises, climbing poles or ropes, biking/spinning and weight lifting," Herbenick said. About 40 percent of the women who had EIO or EISP episodes had done so on more than 10 occasions. One-fifth of the women could not control their experiences, and most of the EIO subjects said they felt self-consciousness when exercising in public places.

1/5 of the women could not control their experiences - I think I've met this woman!
most of the EIO subjects said they felt self-consciousness when exercising in public places - I would think so!!!

ok, more details regarding this study

Of the women who had orgasms ("coregasms," named because of their seeming link to exercises for core abdominal muscles) during exercise, about 45 percent said their first experience was linked to abdominal exercises; 19 percent linked to biking/spinning; 9.3 percent linked to climbing poles or ropes; 7 percent reported a connection with weight lifting; 7 percent running; the rest of the experiences included various exercises, such as yoga, swimming, elliptical machines, aerobics and others.

For instance, the abdominal exercises tied to orgasms seemed to be particularly associated with the exercise in which a person supports their weight on their forearms on a so-called captain's chair with padded arm rests and then lifts their knees toward their chest. did not do this

The open-ended questions also revealed the orgasms tended to occur after multiple sets of crunches or some other abdominal exercise rather than after just a couple repetitions; we do full body integration, but not specifically abd work on thursday they also seemed to happen after the woman had really exerted herself. this is the only possibility

I would workout(at home, of course!) a lot more if it induced that type of reaction in my body.

Maybe she does not realize how loud she is? Sometimes intensity requires a little extra grunt here or there. Without actually watching this individual or hearing the sound it's hard to say...but my guess...attention seeker!

UPDATE: The moaner was absent for 2 days last week, and when she returned, she was no longer moaning, at least not so loud that the sound carried throughout the gym. I never heard anything. Yay! :D:
