Chris V, you're being awfully quiet on this topic! ;)

Ha. Yeah, I was just out on a 500 mile motorcycle ride today. I haven't touched any political signs... But!!!! I did pull a Luis Palau sign up last week.

So according to the city rules, a person can place a political ad on public property as long as the person follows the rules.

So for those who think it is ok to pull them off the public property--you need to stop doing that until you have a crystal ball that tells you which person did not get approval or which person did not pay the fees associated with placing the ad on the public property.

You will start seeing a whole lot more Gaylord 4 Folsom signs here shortly. Starsky's recycling his signs from last year so obviously he has a ton more. He sure was surprised to find out I've had my truck wrapped for two months already!

I have a feeling the incumbent is very worried.

Starsky, I noticed that the two large signs that you had up at
Oak and Iron Point are gone. Sorry this is happening.

Who ever is doing this please stop.
A VETERAN Whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount "up to and including their life". That is HONOR, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it. -Author unknown-

Yes, do stop. It is theft--even if you think you are doing the right thing, legally you are not.

Maybe someone needs the Coroplast to build a doghouse

City of Folsom
Campaign and Election Sign Regulations
November 6, 2012 General Municipal Election
For the purpose of sign regulation within the City of Folsom, campaign and election signs fall into
the category of non-commercial signs. Such signs are exempt from sign permit requirements
(except when located within the public right-of-way) in compliance with the following provisions:

2. Campaign/election signs may be located on private property and outside of any clear vision
triangle; campaign / elections signs may not be located within or over a public right-of-way
unless authorized pursuant to Folsom Municipal Code Section 17.59.030 (D) and FMC
17.59.030©(13) as summarized below,
b. One or more campaign/election signs are permitted on any one commercial parcel
of land provided all such signs do not exceed a maximum combined sign area of
forty (40) square feet
and a maximum height of ten (10) feet.

I will have to measure them but at first look it appears that Starsky's double sign exceed the total 40 square feet of signage in one location. They could be in compliance but will measure and notify code if not.

3. Campaign/election signs may be placed in the public right-of-way with approval of a Sign
Permit (obtained in Folsom Community Development
Department; $152 fee/$200
refundable deposit) pursuant to Section 17.59.050 (A) and in compliance with the following
provisions of Folsom Municipal Code Section 17.59.030(D)(2):
a. Signs are allowed only on weekends (and holidays) between Friday evenings after
6:00 p.m. and removed no later than Monday mornings by 7:00 a.m.
Removal
includes all portions of the sign and supporting structure.

So it is now acceptable to post on public property from Friday 6pm to Monday 7am - but not any other time.
Guess the sitting council has changed some of the rules in the last 4 years... wonder why they would do that ? :)

Another great  day in the adventure of exploration and sight.

I don't remember that every being allowed before either so it must be a new rule. I'm not sure I like it, but I guess it's a way for the city to make some money.

Since the annexation began, all the city laws have been "moving targets."

There's only one enforcement officer, so this kind of "time limit" is nonsense

even if it were legal.

Isn't it nice to know the "city attorney" represents only the city council and select city officials?? He can advise them everything under the sun is legal, legit, OK, possible, probable, and going to happen within these city limits.

Do you get the idea the city is out of control?!#*?

Hey, Mr. Gaylord...if yo uwant me to put signs out fri in a few spots and back and pick them up on mon morning--Be more than happy to help out.

Equalization in America started with stop signs and apparently it should also include political signs on weekends only....

I will have to measure them but at first look it appears that Starsky's double sign exceed the total 40 square feet of signage in one location. They could be in compliance but will measure and notify code if not.

Well...just the maximum 10 feet high for the sign located on F-A near the Oak ave, pkwy was definitely more than 10 feet high...

Starsky is the chambers and biz packs "boy wonder"

It's no wonder the rules change on the fly to suit his campaign needs

It's sickening how Starsky is owned by corporate Folsom
