Does anyone know if it is legal to print their pictures and post them around where they live to let other people know they are a registered sex offender?

View Post

Maybe it would be legal to do a flyer with the Megan's law website and encourage neighbors to check it out or go to the police station and look a their CD.

I though about doing this - print out flyers and post them on mailboxes.

Current law requires that a registered sex offender not reside within a quarter mile from a school housing K-8th graders. It doesn't specify anything for a high school.

AB 240 (Bermudez) would require that a registered sex offender not live within two miles of any elementary or secondary school. You might want to contact Assemblymember Niello and encourage him to support this. I don't think it keeps them from coming to the school and standing on the sidewalk while kids are pouring out to walk home.

Wouldn't a two mile radius of elementary and secondary schools pretty much rule out living within the boundaries of most normal cities?

Not a bad idea!

Totally! Just think of all the new laws, enforcement agencies and regulations that will be created to try and enforce this unachievable goal! And just imagine how safe our children will be!

Actually, it was more disturbing to find out today that once probation is over, there are absolutely no restrictions on these offenders. They can live next door to school if they desire. I had always thought that "lifetime registrants" had lifetime restrictions.

It is illegal to post any flyers at the Willow Springs Apartments complex in Folsom California. After calling them and informing them that they should look at the Megan's Law website they stated "they prefer not to look at it."

I guess that since Google and Yahoo bots scan these message boards then people using the internet to research a place to live in Folsom California will realize that Willow Springs Apartments in Folsom California might be home to a registered sex offender or other Apratments in Folsom California as well.

Just becuase registered sex offenders might live in Willow Springs Apartments in Folsom California does not mean that we should sit silently.

We will have been wrong to not act if a child should be hurt, again, by one of these sex offenders.

We have 18 registered sex offenders in town. Why single out that one apartment complex? They can't legally do anything against the guy.

In comparison, Rancho has 73, Placerville 50, and Citrus Heights 100

I think 1 is too many, but we can't stop them.

To show you what a small town this is, my daughter knows 2 of the guys. One is a 19 year old she met through the teen crowd, and another is the grandfather of one of her buddies.

I found it interesting that many people move up to the Sac region because of crime fears, yet San Francisco has 597 sex offenders, and Oakland has 807. Sac has more than the two of them combined, with 1550.

If there is a point, it's that there are perverts in every town. We can't get away from them, nor can we make them get away from us.

Becasue I want him to move, to another city. I don't want him near my kids or other kids. I don't want him to feel comfortable so he can fall into his past habits.

Is that clear enough for you?

I have to agree with Steve, why this particular one? They are located in every city. Where to hide?

No one wants to live near molesters. My question is, why pick just one of them? Why not all 18?

I don't want to live near rapists, thieves, murderers, robbers, bandits, scofflaws, outlaws, brigands, nose-pickers, drug users, alcoholics, drunk drivers, lawyers, thugs, pimps, hookers, politicians, casinos, dumps, prisons, factories, strip clubs or tattoo parlors.

Why single out this apartment complex? Because I live about one block away from it. smile.gif

It's good to let this apartment's residents and the homeowners nearby be aware of a very nornal and innocent looking guy - the Offender- living right next to them and their kids.
