I do wish we had a Five Guys. I went to one recently and enjoyed it much more than In-Out. I do like Habit but it's usually too crowded.
That being said, I prefer non-fast food burgers in general.

I grew up in Orinda, Nation's was the bomb. Everyone went there. I do think this town is oversaturated with burger joints, I wonder if they are going to cannibalize each other's business...
And oddly, none stand out. The only burger place with a shred of ingenuity is not even a burger place. It's Sam Hornes.

We surely do NOT need another Hamburger place or a pizza place in Folsom. We need a el Polo Loco
Another great day in the adventure of exploration and sight.

White Castle. Would put all those other places out of business.

Hardly- most in the west do not even know much about White Castle except their tacky frozen bugers. Most fast food burger places do not have anything that is remotely tasting like a real Burger.

I went to the Nations in Citrus Heights several months ago. It is not near as good as I remember from my highschool days. If I am going to eat a burger at a restaurant, Chilli's, Smash Burger, and other places easily beat Nations.

Seriously, I want to know. Maybe it's time for myfolsom burger lunch review 2013...
A friend of mine worked at Nations in the town I grew up in. My friends and I would go to "harass" him while he worked. I enjoyed a tasty burger with grilled onions and pie.
The burger I got from Nations in Citrus Heights was fairly non-descript, not much flavor. The meat was rather bland. If I recall correctly, they used a "special sauce" that was basically thousand island dressing. (I just double-checked and it was 14 months ago when I ate at there.)
I enjoy burgers that have some taste to the meat. I must admit that I enjoy a Carl's Jr Six Dollar burger. Adding a bunch of other tasty ingredients to cover a bland patty's taste just doesn't cut it for me.

OOOhhh, I love White Castle (the real thing, not the frozen). When my family moved to CA decades ago, we missed White Castle so much they had them shipped via FeD Ex for them. Worth it. And when I and my kids went back to the Midwest, that is one of the things on the list of places to eat. They liked them too.

Carl, thanks for for the review. I also like the meat to have the flavor, not all the toppings.

My kids and i went by there last night. one kid ordered the cheeseburger. The other ordered the double bacon wrapped cheeseburger. They both liked the burgers. commented on the cheese glopping onto the paper wrapper. the burgers were so filling they were glad they didnt order fries. The three of us shared a strawberry tart. it was big enough to easily share with four people. I thought the crust was slightly dry but the glaze was very sweet and tasty.
overall, I would mark this burger joint on equal footing with habitat, smashburger. The ingredients on the burgers were fresh crisp and filling.
After we ate at Nations we stopped at the blood source van and donated a pint each. Even though we ate at 4pm it filled us for the whole evening.

We tried it last night. The burgers are way too large. My daughter and I had to share. Neither of us eat that much burger - ever! No real options for my son, except grilled cheese and maybe a hot dog. While the burgers did taste good, I don't see why we would ever go back. If they had smaller burgers and/or kid options, it might work out better for us.
