Imagine that, a "Folsom Snob" with an SUV excited to use public transportaion!!!

Me too! I can't wait to get down to Zinfandel without having to fight 50 traffic! Or get downtown to the Amtrak station for my monthly trips to SF!

Wow, another "Folsom Snob" with a BMW excited to use public transport!

Although, we only have 1 car, and it's quite a beater. I guess that makes us a tad less snobby smile.gif But having light rail is going to be a dream!

I also read an article today discussing express bus lines from EDH to Sutter St. so EDH commuters can use the train. Hopefully they'll stop by Pachanga's on their way home and bring us some more Folsom dollars too!

I use it now and will use it more when the Iron Point station opens. I noticed just today that one of the trains I ride had an extra car added to it. I am not sure why, but they will certainly need it the stations open up here.

I'll bet you $20 you are completely wrong about that.

HOORAY Lightrail!

If you work anywhere near 50 you'd be a fool not to take advantage of this.

We shall see. In theory I agree with you, but theories rarely pan-out on this kind of thing because it requires people to do the math...to think logically...to get out of their precious, over-priced, gas guzzlers...something I don't see too much of these days... thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

I am also looking forward to Light Rail in Folsom. Currently I have to drive to Sunrise to start my trek - looking forward to only having to get to Glen.

As far as "nobody will use it" - late afternoon and early evening it's standing room only. If I miss the 4:04 from 65th street heading home there's almost not even a place to stand. Once we pass Rancho there's plenty of room right now but I expect once all of us smart Folsom SUV owners realize how convenient it is - that will change.

Hopefully the users of Folsom roads will figure out where to stop for red lights real soon - I could hand out 10 tickets every drive home the way folks are stopping now.

Bring on Light Rail!!

Yes, I wish the cops in this town would get off their rears and start being aggressive with ticketing. I RARELY see a cop writing a ticket, and I am constantly seeing people blatantly breaking the law and I'm getting sick of it. We have the laziest police force in the area, bar none. thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

Folsom cops are great! I'm sure they'll start nailing people for the "red light violations" for stopping on the crosswalks soon enough. Supposedly they were really going to start hammering down on that for the Sept 15th first-run, but I have still yet to see a train. Maybe when the trains come the tickets will follow.

My husband, who works downtown, right across from the Capitol, has been counting the days until light rail is running into Folsom. As everyone knows, the traffic on 50 is only getting worse, and the drivers are getting more and more rude. -- He's looking forward to chipping away at his reading list, or possibly working on his laptop.

We'll probably make a greater contribution to protecting the environment through using light rail than we will through using this new Smart Cart system.

I think it will be great for the next time I have Jury Duty.
My wife is against it though. I wonder if she is a snob (oops wrong thread) rolleyes.gif

I had the same thought. I have had jury duty four times in four years. They can call you every year, but not more than once a year. The jurors parking lot fills early so in order to get a spot one has to arrive extra early. Then there is the early morning traffic on Hwy. 50. So if and when I am called to jury duty again, I plan on taking light rail.

Statistics on how many crimes were committed and not caught by police? Wow, that's pretty intriguing, I'd be interested to see that!

Perhaps you will also be able to shed statistical light on the impact light rail passengers will have on petty thefts in the region. Or do your holistics not work on the future?

Average number of citations per officer per month in Folsom is the lowest in the region, yet we know we have a big problem here in Folsom. Doesn't make sense. That's why I invoked the term "lazy". Prove me wrong. You can't... thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

Actually, I'll take on the challenge of proving you wrong, but first you have to provide me with the source of your statistics which back up your claim that the average number of citations per officer per month in Folsom is the lowest in the region.

And define "region", so I can start where you are.
