A good Jewish, Kosher (not Kosher style) deli.
Amen!
(Hehe)
Also would love to see a Banderas.
But really really would love to see a good ol fashioned Jewish Deli!

I would like to see some healthy food options like a Cafe Yumm or the like. Something more then just Jacks Urban Eats, there's a lot more healthy food options then just salads. Unfortunately Folsom doesn't seem to have any healthy restaurants since Freshii left - we just have lots of burger and pizza joints... I hope that changes some day soon.
Hey cw68, I grew up with a Sicilian grandma and I too crave really good Italian food - so far I've liked what I've tried at Visconti's... I haven't been to Sergio's yet but heard they are good. (but from their menu it looks like they do charge an arm and a leg heh)

Yep, you have family that lives in my hometown and you correctly said Sicilian, not Italian! I haven't eaten at Visconti's, the reviews seemed mixed. Sergio's is awesome.
But I'm craving food like this (I know the cheesy 70s atmosphere can't be recreated), it's so good! http://www.qsrestaurant.com/
CW: You've lived here how long and you've never been to Visconti's?!! One of my favorites, although I preferred the old location where Sergio's is now, and, yes, a little upscale. I know what you're talking about: here's one of my favorites of the genre in Cleveland, complete with the red, white and green neon sign: http://mamasantas.com/
BTW, the E. Bidwell Complete Streets planning project actually covers the entire length of the street, from Riley to Iron Point.

It's going to be terribly inconvenienced by the railroad tracks in that case.

I'm going to be going to Visconti's more. I think its the best italian in Folsom.

Unless the tracks become an asset...

Anything to make the area around the middle school on down to Sutter St. more walkable. and bike-able (is that a word?).
I know it's a pipe dream, but I really like Boudin Bakery on Fair Oaks in Sac and would love to be able to walk to one in the Central District, even though I know, in reality, it would be more likely to go down towards Palladio.

Caligirlz, that's an excellent question.
I found this pdf: folsom.ca.us/civicax/filebank/blobload.aspx?blobid=18135. If that doesn't work Google "East Bidwell Street Corridor Request For Qualifications Folsom" and the pdf should pop up. In that document there's a lot of talk about stakeholders and identifying groups to have them involved in the planning, If you go to about page 19 there are aerial maps identifying five distinct areas.
If this plan is going to affect residential properties they consider "underutilized" I would hope they would provide more notice than just an email that there are "stakeholders" meetings.

Tony, if there is already a planning project in place, then what do you think is going on with this request I received?
The planning project is just getting under way. I assume what you received is part of the initial public involvement process.
The consultant contract was approved by City Council in January. There was information on the project at the Pedestrian Master Plan workshop a couple of weeks ago.

You are being too subtle, I'm not sure what you mean. I don't recall which side of the excursion train / bike trail battle you are on. Or are you thinking light rail? Either kind of train service would screw up traffic like it does on Folsom. But either way it blocks access to the north side for miles.
While we're at it, East Bidwell / Scott is also where half of the Folsom traffic from the capitol connector freeway is supposed to dump out. The map on the website shows exits to Prairie City and Scott and then the freeway end in EDH. Having ridden these roads on the May bike day, they don't look much like freeways yet but I'm sure they can change that quick.

is it wrong to buy Kosher Coca-Cola at a Jewish deli if you're not Jewish?

I just saw the Colton book store next to Big 5 at On East Bidwell at Glen. New and used stuff for sale.
