While the PR from OSH says all is well, there are still nearly 30 stores that have not been picked up as of yet by Lowes...

If Folsom indeed is a profit center then we can likely rest easy... but if it is not or Lowes decides the overhead at a store directly across the street from them  is too high and could sell the property at a handsome profit ( if it is owned by OSH as one person has said) they might just consider that option...

Hope this is not the case as I use OSH often as well...

Another great  day in the adventure of exploration and sight.

I am glad OSH is staying open here.

First round of Osh store closures announced today. Citrus heights store and 8 others will be gone in the next few months. Folsom is safe for now!
FAQ said location near a Lowe's won't be a factor in other upcoming store closure decisions so it's looking better and better.

Support OSH!  Show Lowe's we love the convenience of the smaller store!!

My wife likes OSH.  She'll be happy to hear it stay open.

It makes me wonder - how many home-improvement/garden stores can Folsom support?  I suspect Green Acres is taking a bite out of all three stores in the nursery department.

Interesting. I hope it works out. In the past I've typically just gone to Lowe's because it was the easy thing to do, but recently I realized that shopping at Lowe's (and Home Depot) is unnecessarily overwhelming. I spend too much time wandering around with a blank look on my face trying to locate what I need, or find a salesperson in the sea of endless aisles to help me find what I need. Even when I get to the hardware aisle, it can take 10 minutes to find the box of screws I need.

Orchard is great because it boils the selection down to the typical essentials, it's just more manageable, and it's a friendlier place with more salespeople to help. For 9/10ths of what I need, Orchard fits the bill better. I don't want them to disappear and I'm going to choose them over Lowe's whenever I can.

I was telling someone earlier today... the Ace near my house is overpriced but they always seem to have exactly the right fittings to fix or replace what the developers put in thirty years ago, rather than spending a lot of effort and aisle space to get me to buy a new faucet.  Home Depot might be better if you wanted to remodel but the Ace will be fine if you are fixing what you have.  And it's another ten or fifteen minutes down the road to get to a big box store and I'd have to spend half an hour finding what I need, so is it really overpriced to get exactly what you want in your own neighborhood?  What they really seem to lack is raw materals like lumber or drywall, but again, remodeling vs. repairing.

YEAHHHHH!!!!  I was there just this morning and that is exactly what they told me.  Very glad to hear this!!  now let's all support them so they stay open!

I am a big fan of OSH.   Just completed some plumbing repairs on the my long discontinued faucets.     OSH had the replacement parts in stock!
